From Within

Nitcentral's Bulletin Brash Reflections: Outer Limits: Season Two: From Within

A mentally challenged boy named Howie is the last unaffected person in a small town overrun by a strange madness. Miners unearth ancient parasites in the shape of worms that attack the brains of their hosts. While the infected townsfolk lose all their inhibitions, Howie must save his sister, Sheila, the only person who truly cares for him. Deprived of Sheila's guidance for the first time in his life, Howie struggles to evade his maddened neighbors and destroy the parasites. In the process, he becomes a hero to the whole town.

My nitpicks are as numerically proceeds:
1) During the commencement of this episode the pick axes chisel at the rock wall at an apparently different angle and with seemingly distinct results. For example, chunks of the rock are removed almost initially in one scene but then appear intact in another scene.
2) Not truly a nitpick, but there is something hilarious and considerably preposterous about a parasitic entity being launched from one host's nose into another host's nose or ear. In fact, one of the miners trots around the diner obviously shooting the little buggers from his nose. It simply caused me to laugh.
3) At the conclusion it is well into the morning prior to the parasite-stricken individuals' return to the salt mine. One would think they would already be on their way by five or six in the morning. Furthermore, why could they not run or minutely rush? The parasitic entities were eliminating their inhibitions, but they were not eliminating their mobility.

Once again the good guys come out on top.

I much preferred these episodes.
