Worlds Apart
Space agency director Nancy MacDonald gets a lesson in the meaning of time and distance with an unexpected signal from astronaut Christopher Lindy. Lindy, the man MacDonald once loved, disappeared on a routine space mission 20 years ago. Oblivious to the time that has passed, Lindy must deal with his present situation: being alone on an unknown planet. MacDonald turns to her husband, marine biologist Greg Tilman, to help Lindy survive attacks by an alien life-form, while she and her staff look for a way to save Lindy before the window of opportunity to save him once again disappears.
The female protagonist seeks to retrieve her former husband from a planet beyond the entrance of an obscure wormhole that remains open for an undeterminable amount of time. Meanwhile, the female protagonist and her new husband experience numerous conflicting emotions regarding the situation, particularly the new husband, whose expertise saves the former husband's life from an immense marine entity's scour for food. Ultimately, the female protagonist's former husband voluntarily remains on the planet if it means not risking the lives of twelve astronauts who were deployed to bring him back to Earth. And as the correspondence between the female protagonist and her former husband fades, the former husband glances around at his new and uncharted home.

Stuart, The Outer Limits moderator on Thursday, December 23, 1999 - 1:41 pm: The female astronaut, who crash-landed with the former husband of the female protagonist, was pulled under the water by the later revealed marine entity pertaining to the planet the two stumbled across. However, the female protagonist's new husband declares that the remnant astronaut is not in danger due to the marine entity's acquisition of larger specimens, such as a raft. Does anyone else notice the inconsistency?
