The Hunt

Nitcentral's Bulletin Brash Reflections: Outer Limits: Season Four: The Hunt

After environmentalists successfully ban the hunting of animals, a black market emerges, with humans paying big money to hunt androids who have outlived their usefulness in the mines. The androids are the perfect prey--strong and intelligent yet unable to turn on their pursuers, thanks to an inhibitor chip that prevents them from harming humans. A group of bow-hunters, George Nichols, his son, Eric, his older brother, Clute, and their guide, Pete, count on that chip as a safety net while they track down a quartet of androids led by Kel. Eager to provide his brother and his reluctant nephew with a real challenge, Clute has secretly planted information that allows the androids to disable the inhibitor chip thus allowing them to fight back. The machines, angry at being turned into game, contemptuous of human bloodthirstiness, are only too happy to oblige. As the balance of power shifts, the line between men and machines blurs with tragic consequences.

All the androids, except for the male bearded one and Pete, who was previously discovered to be an android turned hunting guide, are put out of commission, as are the older brother and son of the brunette human hunter. The son was unintentionally slain by his own father, considering the son was donning one of the androids' jackets. And the older brother was murdered by the male bearded android after he had vanquished the male bearded android's love interest (i.e., the female android) over whom the male bearded android sacrificed his existence by saving her during a mining operation. Ultimately, the male bearded android and Pete reach the final marker and are greeted by a security guard. When the male bearded android is detained after attempting to take his own life, he undergoes a reconfiguration process and later poses as a new hunting guide for another hunt.

My nitpicks are as numerically proceeds:
1) No blue substance remains on the medical android's fingers as he is removing the inhibitor chip from the female android. Yet, the blue substance remains on the humans' and androids' extremities whenever they touch it in the later half of the episode and even during some prior moments.
2) The male bearded android states, "They said they'd free us," with reference to the human hunters, while he is continuing his journey with his two companions--the female android and the alleged hunting guide, who is later discovered to be an android, named Pete. However, it was Pete and Pete alone who divulged this information to them.
3) At the conclusion the new androids are greeted by the male bearded android who proceeds to notify them of the ground rules of the hunt. In the commencement of this episode, though, the android guide waited until the androids reached the initial marker before disclosing the objective of the hunt.

Wonder if Androids Rights groups exist here.
