He was in some ways a Brilliant Theologian, sadly he said and did some very hateful Unchristian things in his life
Such as?
Such as?
So you just drop a comment like that and run away when challenged? So much for the "intellectual debate" you so crave....
Nothing? What a coward you are....
Still nothing Jeff? Surprise, surprise...
Troll= coward
Clearly he doesn't really want to discuss the topic. Just shut this board down!
Given how important a figure Martin Luther is, there may be *some* interesting things to say about him... just not by Jeff.
May as well close this thread, Rodney, as Scott suggested.
Jeff doesn't want debate, he wants approval.
As tempted as I am to do just that, in a way I want to keep this open and close off everything else to see if he retreats back here......
but then I'll feel guilty if he starts harrassing Keith's boards.
Rodney, I've been extremely busy, Luther said very hateful things against The Pope,Jews, other Protestants who disagreed with him, that's what I was referring to
Busy for three years? Yeah, right.
Well I have to you some credit for at least coming here and saying something.
As to your comment, why am I not surprised you have provided no evidence of anything- merely a sentence of some vague accusations.
Did he want to see these people gassed or executed? Did he call for his followers to hurt them? Or did he merely point out how (he felt) they weren’t interpreting the Bible correctly? Luther was passionate about how the word should be read and who should read it, much to the chagrin of many other faiths.
I am sure he was not perfect and maybe he actually he actually did say something that in 21st century opinion would be considered hate speech. Context is everything.
I look forward to your careful and considered response in 2026 when you’re not so “busy”.
I would live up to my end of the bargain but Scott has beaten me to it.
