Jeff, you've seen too many Kirk Cameron movies.

He made some movies that dealt with this rubbish, back around the beginning of the century. I tried one, but quickly switched off. No plot, just Christian propaganda full of lies and half-truths.

Kirk Cameron went really around the bend when be became a Born Again Christian.

The last few seasons of the sitcom, Growing Pains (which brought Mr. Cameron to stardom) was hell on the writers of that show, when Kirk appointment himself Moral Guardian and began hounding said writers if he saw anything in the scripts that smelled of "sin". Many writers quit the show in frustration.

Kirk got the actress, Julie McCullugh, who was playing his girlfriend at the time, fired, because she had posed for Playboy a few years before. He got another guest star, a pre-Friends Matthew Perry fired, apparently because, in Kirk's twisted mind, Mr. Perry was "an agent of Satan"! I am not joking here!

And then there was his infamous Saving Christmas movie, which was more propaganda, and was full or more lies and half-truths.

Kirk says that Christmas was Christian right from the get-go.

Wrong!!

Both what we now call Christmas and Easter have Pagan origins. Sorry, Kirk, but facts are facts, even if you can't accept them.

And when Saving Christmas tanked, Kirk went on Rotten Tomatoes and blamed atheists and Satanists for the movie's failure. He urged people to support the movie. What happened? It was went even lower down on RT scale.

Wah, wah, wahhhhhhh!


Jeff, I know your religion means a lot to you, and I respect that. But don't become like Kirk Cameron, please. When I see posts like this from you, I feel that you're heading in that direction.

There is no "exact timing" of End Times events, there never has been.

For centuries people have bleated that the world will end on (fill in the date, only to have the date in question come and go, and nothing happened.

When the end of the 20th Century dawned, people got all worked up over Y2K. "It's the end of human civilization!" they cried. What happened? The year 2000 arrived and nothing happened!

When people got all worked up over that Mayan calendar thing in 2012. "It's the end of human civilization!" they cried. What happened? December 21, 2012 came and went, and nothing happened!

Jeff, quit worrying about this stuff. These "end times" have been proven wrong, again and again. Let it go and live your life.

Matthew 24: 36-37-
“Concerning that day and exact hour, no one knows when it will arrive, not even the angels of heaven—only the Father knows. For it will be like it was in the days of Noah when the Son of Man appears."

In other words- Tim is right, we do not know when the world will end so don't worry about it- concern yourself with living today.

Rodney, I'm aware of that verse you mentioned, while it's true that no one can know exactly when Jesus will return , we are still told in the Bible to pay attention to signs and events in the World that indicate that the Second Coming is Near

Jeff, the Bible is so vague on all this that you can literally read anything into this. Sadly, this has allowed some people to fall victims to scams and such by those willing to take advantage of them.

I remember seeing ads on TV for underground shelters being built for those wanting refuge from the coming disaster (whatever that would be) when the Mayan Calendar ended on December 21, 2012.

Now, were those people building said shelters doing it out of the goodness of their hearts? Nope. They were simply swindlers and con men seeing an opportunity. They no more believed that the world would end on that day than I did. However, they knew that a lot of people that did believe, and they took full advantage of that. And that was their pitch: Sure, you can ride out the end of the world in my shelter, just fork over your life savings and your space in guaranteed.

In fact, it's possible that said shelters never really existed at all, but the marks didn't find out until after they'd handed over everything they had. Said swindlers and con men probably cleaned up and made off with the hard earned money of innocent people.

Jeff, I hope that you've never been taken in by such con artists, because people such as you are their prime targets. People who seemingly just believe without question.

Anyway, Jeff, as I said, stop worrying about something that may, or may not, happen. As Rodney and I said, enjoy your life.
