Nitcentral's Bulletin Brash Reflections: Sailor Moon: The Scout/Senshi's Sink: DVD Releases
By Matthew Patterson (Mpatterson) on Sunday, October 15, 2000 - 7:23 pm:

Interesting news: According to www.animeondvd.com, ADV (NA rights-holders for Evangelion) has acquired the rights to the first two Sailor Moon TV series. Whether this means there'll be a subtitled release of any sort is unknown, but I devoutly hope there is.

Meanwhile, Pioneer has the rights to Sailormoon S, SuperS, and the movies. The first volume of SMS on VHS and DVD is scheduled to be released on January 23, 2001. The DVD, at least, will contain six episodes.

Well, according to www.AnimeOnDVD.com, ADV recently aquired the rights to the subtitled version of the first two seasons... so, Mr. Patterson, it took a few years but your wish has come true.

Sadly enough, I no longer care. Well, if someone were to pick up Sailor Stars, that would be nice, but I already have that season on tape. Bootleg, granted, but I've got it already and won't be paying for it again until the tapes wear out.

'Tis not nice to bootleg...

I have vol.6 of Super S on DVD now.I watched it yesterday and the two main nits I found were:
1.After Rini asks Pegasus to return her to normal size the scene shifts to day and both Usagi and
Rini are back to normal, except that shouldn't Usagi's PJs be a bit smaller than they're shown to be?After all when she went to bed she was pintsized and now she's back to her normal teenaged height.
2.Pegasus spends an aweful lot of time explaining to Rini why he was unable to answer her before since he was unable to find her pure heart because of her selfishness. Then he goes on to explain that when the Dark Circus captured him the only way he could escape was to turn into an unicorn, but he never explains how this was done.
So is Pegasus a shapeshifter or was the explanation a bit too over Rini's head so he simply skipped it?

Usagi argues that if she were younger again math would be easier,"You have such easy Math problems!"but when we get a chance to look at her actual math homework it's a bunch of rather simple looking mulitpication problems.

The scenes with the kids' dream mirrors were well done as was the dream sequence when Rini finally meets up with Pegasus.

Tuxedo Kamen's appearance is a bit OTT in the end and he overdramatizes it a bit as well when he calls for Sailor Moon.

So if Mercury can just simply FREEZE the enemy with her Mercury Rhapsody why did the rest of the
Senshis even bother trying to use their attacks?
Why not simply ask her to freeze it in the first place?
