This for discussion of anything SM related that doesn't have its own board.

So… anything SM related that doesn't have its own board… how about the last 3 season and the 3 movies?

By Jon Wade on Monday, July 10, 2000 - 10:29 am:

I found an interesting site...
http://www.os.xaxon.ne.jp/~rini/sailor/sumo/index.htm
Sumo wrestlers in Sailor Moon outfits.

I like the show, but one thing...

I'm in high school, will be 17 in a couple months, and I have yet to see 14-, 15-, and 16-year-olds with such perfect bodies.

Flawless chests, flat stomachs, and perfect legs. Grrrr....

Yeah, yeah, I know it's a cartoon, but I'm just pointing it out.

By cstadulis on Friday, July 13, 2001 - 6:42 am:

Hey, just like the Barenaked Ladies sing: "I get in tune/ with Sailor Moon/ 'cause that cartoon/ has got the boom anime-babes/ that make me think the wrong thing."

I work with a girl who is 16 and has a flawless (and very large) chest, flat stomach and prefect legs. Not only that but she has a perfect face (looks kind of like a less-ethnic Jessica Alba) and could easly pass for 22 years old. Also when was the last time you saw a guy with muscles as big as any super-hero cartoon character.

I'll be back...

I have no idea what season is which or which version of dubbing is on (or was on) cartoon network. Is Sailor Uranus a dyke? Maybe culture things are different but she seems to have all the stereotypes. (she always wears pantsuits, has short hair, and even gets mistaken for a man by sailor Venus.)

I'm posting as anonymous to avoid the "homophobe label" when I just want to know.

By Matthew Patterson (Mpatterson) on Sunday, August 05, 2001 - 3:28 pm:

She and Neptune are a couple. A lesbian couple. Yes, Uranus is rather butch. Yes, this is really funny when you remember that the English dub calls them cousins, and then goes and leaves in every single mushy moment that ever passed between the two of them. (Not the first time a dub's ever implied something that's not there.)

So, yes. And no, they're not really related.

mpatterson,

Thanks for the info. That explains a lot.

By cstadulis on Monday, August 06, 2001 - 3:17 pm:

Ah, gotta love those English dubs... can't have controversy on a cartoon, can we?

By William Berry on Thursday, August 16, 2001 - 1:57 pm:

When it rains I ask my bored kids a silly question like if Superman can escape the Men in Black (cartoon versions). One question, and their answers, might be of interest here. The Sailor scouts discover an alien that wants to devour the earth. Mercury finds its weak point at Yellowstone. Through a funny but honest mix up Serena goes to Jellystone (Darian took mini-moon to Yellowstone). There she meets and befriends Shaggy and Scooby-Doo who have ditched everyone else with Scrappy-Doo. Also there is Goku from Dragon Ball Z relaxing before he fights Cell. They go on a pick-nick together with pepperoni and peanut butter sandwiches (Goku cooked and cooking is not his strong suit). There are five cartoon characters and three sandwiches. Out of Goku, Serina, Shaggy, Scooby, and Yogi Bear, which are left hungry.

The younger (6 year-old girl) says Goku, Yogi, and Scooby because Serina and Shaggy don't want pepperoni and peanut butter sandwiches.

The elder, a 9 year-old boy said it will work out like this. Yogi will end up accidentally defending the Earth because Serina was right. By the time he is finished the sandwiches will be gone (as he discovers when he steals the basket). Scooby will eat Shaggy's sandwich. Goku, being a good guy, will give Shaggy his sandwich. Scooby will steal that too before he realizes that he does not like pepperoni and peanut butter sandwiches. Serina will take one bite, not like it, and see Goku's good guy action. She'll kick herself for not being experienced enough, and give Shaggy the rest of her sandwich. Shaggy will eat it then wonder why it tasted weird.

Oh, the Sailor Scouts finish Yogi's accidental stopping of the bad guy (Yogi bearly stopped them:)) and Goku goes back to face Cell. Shaggy and Scooby go to where the Scooby Snax (TM) are.

Did you mean the pun or was that a Boo-boo:).

By William Berry on Monday, November 19, 2001 - 6:50 pm:

I've got a question and I don't know where to ask it. Sailor Neptune plays something by Beethoven on the violin. My daughter likes it and this seems like a good "in" for classical music. What is the song?

By William Berry on Wednesday, November 21, 2001 - 4:37 pm:

Hello? Is this board abandoned?

By Benn on Thursday, November 22, 2001 - 2:04 am:

Why? Do you want to claim it as your own and take it home with you? Y'know, "finders keepers"?

By cstadulis on Thursday, November 22, 2001 - 5:54 am:

Hey, I would have tried to answer your question, but I'm currently many miles away from Sailor Moon. I don't get Cartoon Network where I am right now and I only get two local stations on my t.v., neither of which show Sailor Moon. I do have a background in classical music and would be happy to try to answer your question, but at the moment, I can't.

As for if this board's abandoned, it simply does not get nearly as much traffic as other boards at this site. There are still posts occasionally, but the most part it's a rather "slow" board.

I was at the Anime News Network website awhile back and according to what they had there they
even did a live action version of Sailor Moon
a couple years back in Japan.

If anyone else shows up here and knows this
out of curiosity besides Tuxedo Mask what are the names of the other two male Sailor Scouts?

By Corinn Solara on Wednesday, June 22, 2005 - 12:00 am:

Two male Senshi? There's three, at least in the anime - the Sailor Starlights. They're men who turn into women when they transform, and are probably almost single-handedly responsible for why Sailor Moon Sailor Stars (the last season) is never going to be released in the US! Can't have our children exposed to the shocking idea of transsexuals . . . ¬_¬ To make doubly sure English audiences who don't know what fansubs are never see that season, one of the Starlights (Seiya, aka Sailor Starfighter) is in love with Usagi/Serena.

It's really too bad, that season is AWESOME . . . no Chibi-Usa/Rini or Mamoru/Darien, and the Outer Senshi are finally back! Happily, it's quite easily found on Bittorrent these days for anyone interested. ;-) /shameless promotion

By Scott McClenny on Tuesday, November 22, 2005 - 3:45 pm:

I read where in the Live Version Sailor Mercury
gets possessed by The Dark Kingdom and becomes
an Evil Version of herself.Anyone seen the
live version who can verify this?

By Brian FitzGerald on Tuesday, November 22, 2005 - 11:19 pm:

I did see a live action version of Sailor Moon (or something like that, we were drinking at the time) and it was really bad. Think power rangers except in Japanesse.

By Scott McClenny on Wednesday, November 23, 2005 - 6:38 pm:

Power Rangers IS Japanese.Just to clarify if someone got the wrong idea.

Any way since I been away from Nitcentral I have done several Sailor Moon(along with other anime)
personality quizzes. My basic results are that
I'm most like:
1.Ami/Sailor Mercury
2.Usagi/Sailor Moon

The Nostalgia Critic has posted a review of the English Dub TV series. And it didn't go over too well with a lot of people. Some felt that he should have had one of his other reviewers, a woman named JesuOtaku, review it instead, as she is a big follower of anime in general. Others thought that he was not qualified to review it because he personally had not grown up watching it, much like the Pokemon TV series that led up to the "First Movie" that he reviewed back in 2008.

Anyway, his review is up both on Blip and his own site, www.thatguywiththeglasses.com . I prefer to watch his vids on Blip, as well as those from Linkara and Todd In The Shadows. That's just me, though!
