this cool episode has one of the cutest nits I've seen. At the end, Mulder confronts Krycek, and tells him that he has the tape, and that he's selling secrets to the french. But check - Mulder doesn't know that! The odience have seen the bomb in Krycek's car, but the last Mulder knows, Krycek still works fro the CSM!

Maybe Mulder rented the 'Anasazy' viseo?

So, how many of us think there is a empty corner complete with bank of pay phones in Hong Kong airport where one can pull a gun and hold a somewhat extended conversation while no one notices?

Would the title of this episode have anything to do with the fact that Gillian Anderson has a child named Piper?

By Matthew Patterson (Mpatterson) on Monday, August 02, 1999 - 9:57 am:

Yes, it would.

Well if you saw a guy with a gun to anotyher guy talking in a corner would you really want to approach them? Perhaps they thought Mulder was a cop or something that was arresrting Krycheck

Maybe, though I didn't see anyone as much as look in that direction. Have you ever seen an empty bank of pay phones in a major airport?

By Chris Booton (Cbooton) on Monday, August 02, 1999 - 10:28 pm:

Nope, but then again I never flown, and have only dropped off and picked up.

I take it that the reason all the guys on the ship had the radiation sickness was from the flash thing that the black cancer can do when in people?

I don't about all of you, but I find the French accents on these sailors somewhat, well, fake. Granted, I'm more familiar with Quebecois and Acadian accents, but they just don't sound like true Francophones. There was another one that relates to this nit, but it escapes me now.

Josh: I don't about all of you, but I find the French accents on these sailors somewhat, well, fake.
Do you mean when they're speaking French or when Gauthier is speaking English? I would agree with the latter but the former I thought sounded ok.

Phil touches on this in his review of the next ep Apocrypha but I'll ask again here; how does the black oil keep that P-51 pilot alive down there for so long, without his body decaying in the least? Keeping him alive is one thing, but he also looked perfectly fine, which is what I thought most strange.

Mr. Johansen claims there were 144 men on the Zeus Faber but the average diesel sub in that era only held around 20+ sailors. In the flashback it looked like a regular Gato-class sub, so there's no way it's going to contain 144 people. Even the fast-attack subs of today only average around 120+.

I wonder how that restaurant Skinner goes to in DC stays in business. Between the two times we see him in there only one other customer was visible. Speaking of that place, in the next ep we learn that some of the evidence on Luis Cardinal was from his saliva, but if you watch he doesn't actually spit on Skinner, he just makes corresponding sound effects and facial movements.

Mulder finally remembers his hand cuffs! Unfortunately when using them on Ms. Kallenchuck in Hong Kong you can clearly see he's using leg irons instead. You can only find cuff chains that long in a prison setting and field agents/police officers will never carry them on their person unless they know in advance they will be needed, due to carrying cases not being made for them.
