Loved the war of the World referece
Just noticed, when I watched it again the other night, Scully spouts Darwin with the best of them to Mulder on the phone, despite her Catholic upbringing and gold cross necklace. I know she's a scientist, and I also know the controversy surrounding Darwin vs. Christianity, what I don't understand is why she was suddenly so strictly Darwinian. Contrary to popular belief, there *is* a middle ground, and I was a little surprised Scully didn't take that. Not exactly a nit; just some thoughts, tho it appears no one posts on this board anyway.
A lot of Catholics believe in Darwinism. Most of us who went to Catholic school were taught it, and not as some peripheral idea held by others. The nuns who taught us believed in it as well. I can't imagine anything more out of character for Scully than for her not to espouse Darwinism.

(I sincerely hope this doeesn't evolve {hee hee} into a religious thread. If it does, I'll stay out of it and apologize for advancing it.)
'S Ok. I am not a Catholic myself, and I was curious, because I know other Christian churches of many denominations have serious problems with Darwinism. I don't agree with them on that point, but I've gotten rants often enough to be a little weirded out when Scully starts spouting it. I guess I didn't really know what I was talking about; sorry if I offended anybody!! It just looked a little weird to me; obviously it's not. Thanx for setting me straight.
Darwinism doesn't say anything about God, but it doesn't mean that one can't believe in it if one is a Christian..
