Great ep! Very touching and, of course, written by
Darin Morgan who has written some of the best eps.
Bruckman tells Scully that they will be in bed
together. However, according to my copy of the ep,
they do not. Scully is certainly standing there
(looking very compassionate, I could add), but
she *is* standing.
I have to agree with the Chief, I *love* his line
to Mulder, although I would'nt repeat it to my
grandmother. B-p
(emoticon: Sunglasses on, meaning cool, yet tongue
sticking out, meaning gross.

By Chris Booton (Cbooton) on Monday, August 09, 1999 - 3:33 pm:

The Guy says that Mulder dies from, well you know. I don't see how that can be fatal. He must have meant it as a joke.

Should an FBI agent really be smoking on the job, let alone is a nice hotel room?

Any activity that involves reducing your intake of air can be very risky. I am not saying another word.

By S. Donaldson on Wednesday, August 11, 1999 - 10:46 am:

It is absolutely bizzare what turns some people on. Whips and chains come to mind, not to mention electricity.

By Murray Leeder on Tuesday, August 24, 1999 - 9:32 pm:

It is rumoured that INXS frontman Michael Hutchence died not from suicide but autoerotic asphyxiation.

By Chris Thomas on Wednesday, August 25, 1999 - 7:49 am:

Not according to the coroner.

By Charles Cabe (Ccabe) on Wednesday, August 25, 1999 - 8:29 am:

However, according to The Science of the X-Files by Jeanne Caverlos autoerotic asphyxiation is frequently confused for suicide cases.

By Chris Thomas on Thursday, August 26, 1999 - 4:29 am:

By coroners or by people who love conspiracy theories? Ever heard of Occam's Razor...?

By Charles Cabe (Ccabe) on Thursday, August 26, 1999 - 10:52 am:

I honestly don't know enough about this topic to give an accurate response.

By Chris Thomas on Friday, August 27, 1999 - 3:19 am:

My point exactly. We're not experts, we had no access to the evidence so it's pure speculation with no basis in fact at this point.

By Dan Garrett on Monday, October 02, 2000 - 2:19 am:

One small nit is when Bruckman tells of his own death he says he sees himself lying naked in a field but in the clip he is wearing his t-shirt.

By Josh M on Monday, October 02, 2000 - 2:58 pm:

Dan-
Chief mentioned that in the X-Files Guide and he also mentioned that he was thankful they didn't follow through with the writers' decisions.

here is some info on this way of death

By Brian FitzGerald on Tuesday, April 03, 2007 - 4:57 pm:

Well to beat a dead horse, that type of fetish is dangerous and I do know a girl who is into it. So it's not that far fetched that such deaths could be mistaken for suicide. In fact my friend told me that she once almost lost consciousness when, umm, umm, umm doing things alone. She had a belt around her neck, it tightened and she almost passed out before unhooking it. If she had lost consciousness with the belt tightened she would have died. Since than she's said she will only do that kind of thing with a partner.
