Miracle Man
Synopsis: Mulder and Scully investigate when a woman unexpectedly dies at a revival, after being touched by a young man named Samuel, who supposedly has been able to heal others. Samuel himself admits guilt, claiming that his touch has been corrupted. At his court hearing, a swarm of locusts appear in the courtroom, causing Samuel to proclaim that it is a sign of his guilt. Samuel is released, but another woman ends up dying under his touch. An examination of the woman shows traces of poison, but by the time this information is relayed, Samuel is dead, beaten to death on the order of the sheriff. At the courtroom, Mulder and Scully find evidence that the locusts were introduced through the ventilation system, and are able to trace the insects to Leonard Vance, a member of the parish in which Samuel was the main attraction. By the time Mulder and Scully come to take him into custody, however, Vance has already poisoned himself, saying that he wanted to ruin Samuel because he brought back Vance back to life after he was burned to death, but that Vance hated living as a scarred man. Vance claims, however, that Samuel came to him and forgave him. This becomes even more eerie when Samuel's body disappears from the morgue, with the person on watch at the time claiming he walked out by himself.
