The investigator from Scotland Yard is named Pheobe Green. If I'm not mistaken, that is the name of Pheobe on Friends. (But, it is so obviosly a diffrent charater.)
Actually, I think that character's name is Phoebe Buffay (probably don't have the spelling right), and Rachel's full name is Rachel Green. Not exactly a Friends trivia buff though, so I could be wrong.
Sorry about that.
Confirmed. Phoebe Buffay and Rachel Green are real characters on "Friends".
A nit:
The hotel in Bosten that the family checks into looks very modren (circa 80's) from the outside. It is a sleek, around 20 floor tower.
When the fire breaks out on the 14th floor, Mulder goes up to rescue the children and gets trapped in the hallway. The halls have that half wall marbling and vintage light fixtures (circa 30's) and old looking wooden stairwells. All very original looking. Hmm.
Wouldn't Pheobe have to go through official channels for a British police officer to gain help from the FBI - (up through the Met Police -> UK Home Office -> US State Department -> FBI and only then down to the basement )?
Also, doesn't the US have quarantine procedures for incoming animals? If so, the Marsden's dog shouldn't have been with them (it's more likely they'd have left it in kennels in Britain anyway, if only to avoid the quarantine period (6 months IIRC) on the return journey - pet passports hadn't be implemented when this episode was originally made).
And would the FBI really accept someone as a field officer with a fear of fire? They might have to rescue someone from a burning building
Anita: It's like the Bates motel - the old house is at the back, not visible from the street
Chris, And would the FBI really accept someone as a field officer with a fear of fire? They might have to rescue someone from a burning building.
A later ep. (Wetwired) also reveals that Mulder is red-green blind (although it's never mentioned again!).
Wouldn't his obsession with aliens be a much bigger stumbling block to being hired? I guess we'll just have to chalk this up to his mysterious "friends in high places", which prevent him from being fired despite his disregard for protocol etc.
So Cecil is going to be tried for the murder of the caretaker, but not of the driver or that act of arson he did at the bar? (Let alone all the murders he'll have to answer with Scottland Yard). And why do the arson act of the bar as to call attention to himself that he's in Boston? Or can he not help himself? If so, and he's done stunts like this before, Scottland Yard seems to be acting more like the Keystone Cops. :P
