Is it just me or did the leader(?) of that Organ harvesting contest group remind anyone else a lot of the smoking man? The way he looked, the smoking and how he said "It's not for me to decide" referring to the game and the risks in it and how once in no one gets out.

The cop and Mulder tell Scully that w/o the witnesses at the contest (including Chao(The Chinese cop)), that they cannot charge the leader(?) of it with anything. But what about Scully and Mulder? they saw what was going on. Certainly they could testify against the guy.

Chao is said to be cut up pretty bad, but he sure looks okay when we see him after the attack, all he appears to have is a single stitch on his face.

In Phil's review for this episode, he mentions the first man that we see selecting a tile from the jar in order to win the jackpot. Anyway, the guy's name is Li Oi-Huan (Phil's spelling), and, while this isn't really a nit, Phil refers to him as "Oi-Huan," his given name. Usually Phil refers to characters by their family names (ie Mulder, Scully, Skinner, etc.). Chinese names use the opposite syntax of those of European origin: Family name, then given name. It's a common mistake. Of course, Phil could've been referring to Li in the familiar.

Why would the SF cop go into his apartment after seeing "ghost house" written on his door? He knows about 'the game', and admits to being somewhat of an outcast himself, so why participate with them at all?

I think only translating the Mandarin when it's necessary to the plot should be a nit, but maybe that's just me :-)

Near the end the cop shoots the guy in charge of 'the game' in the shoulder, and the guy rolls over and says "you should have killed me." So, why didn't he? The man is holding a weapon, has killed who knows how many other people, and the cop knows the repercussions that'll come his way... He would've been completely justified to make a kill shot.
