Good. I liked this one.
Not much a cliffhanger for it to be continued other that Scully driving after stuff. I guess they don't need a good one since we are just waiting for next week for the conclusion or continuation.
Was that Denise Crosby as Scully's ER-ish Doctor? If so I imagine it wasn't a pointless cameo and that she'll be back next week.
Greatest moment this week: (tie) Billy getting run over and Scully in the shower.
So... which side is everyone working for here, and who's waiting for CancerMan to show up?
And to answer your question, yes that was Denise Crosby as the doctor. I keep waiting for the revelation that she is part of the black oil aliens. She was already killed by one oil slick...
ha. that would be fun.
Yeah, I'm a little fuzzy on what side everyone is on, or even what the alien plot is anymore.
Back with Gibson and the black oil I almost had my mind wrapped around it but now it's all muddled.
Billy is getting sloppy ain't he? Why didn't he torch the other 2 places if he was trying to destroy all traces of the attempts to make alien-human hybrids. Not to cover his tracks but so whoever Lindsey works for have to start over. Dr. Parenti had just as much specimens and the last guy had, I suppose, the bulk of the data.
So, will Doggett believe now about the existence of aliens after what was just disclosed. Of course, minus what Krychek was saying.
Geez, and I thought we were going to get an answer about Scully's child's parentage. Well, at least we know the baby is human, maybe even more so. Can't wait for next week. :-)
I'm still giddy from all the testosterone floating around whenever Skinner, Mulder, and Dogget were in the same room. Aah, alpha males.
Good ep, if confusing. I'm glad we get the end next week, and not six months from now.
Denise Crosby was killed by the oil in the past of an alternate timeline. The doctor in this episode was the offspring of that Crosby and the black oil.
Doggett comments that he has read EVERY X-File. How is that possible when the office was burned down in "The End"? Yes, I know one episode showed Mulder trying to reconstruct the files. Realistically, wouldn't a lot of information just be lost? What did Mulder do - reconstruct them from his detailed travel expense reports (i.e. the ones that the FBI accountant seemed to know everything about Mulder's cases and not just a listing of his expenses)?
One word: Backups . certainly a guy as paranoid as Mulder made backup's.
Comments.
1. Mulder seems very, very suspicious. Have we seen the back of his neck since his return? Why didn't Billy Miles kill him with the blow? Why does he act so mysterious at times?
2. Way to bring back the bit players so they can be decapitated? I had to laugh at that "parental discretion" warning--the decapitating of Duffy Haskell was actually quite hilarious in a way, since it did not look realistic at all.
3. The ending was confusing regarding motivations, but it was a nifty set piece. I thought Skinner was actually going to be Billy bait for a while.
47 Alert
One of the times given for a scene in this episode is 10:47. Fits because Denise Crosby (who, of course, played Yar on TNG) plays a doc in this episode.
What were those pills actually?
Really just vitamins?
Goog-- you're right! However, after the oil consumed Tasha Yar-- somehow it managed to survive, got tossed back in time to the 1960s, got into one of her parents and created Scully's Doctor-- who should therefore be as evil as a certain other alien hybrid-- (half Romulan/half human). :P Guinan looks through a star and whispers "Scully" of which then manages to get to Reyes a vision. :P
