Not too bad, the plot was reinicent of the batman episode "The Forgotten"

(In that one Batman remembers what happened to his Parents , and that triggers his memory comming back , in this one Doggett remembers what happened to his Son which triggers his memory comming back)

Just one question, when the cops arrest Doggett, why didnt they give him his other shoe back? It just seemed a little odd to leave him with only one.

When he talks to people, they automatically assume he's American, but he could also be Canadian . This is a nit that is common to manny diffrent movies , tv shows and even games, in a foreign country ( that is a country that is foreign to someone from the US or Canada , when someone see's a white person they always assume that he/she's american , which is not necessarily correct)

A good episode, although it was slightly annoying that the sole paranormal aspect was not introduced until 3/4 of the way in (thought I was watching "Traffic" here for a while).

Robert Patrick was solid (one of his best performances), as was the spooky guy from...the Cartel (Dum Dum Dum). I think that Doggett should have been forced to get his full memory BACK from the spooky guy, though, rather than miraculously remembering it all at once.

Great Quotes

*"Please don't talk in Spanish anymore."--You're a Texan lawyer with a Hispanic client, and you can't speak Spanish?

*"I speak English, BTW." "Yeah?" "Yeah." "See you in ****!"--This made me laugh for some reason.

*"Why would you want such pain?" "Because it's mine!"--Sums Doggett up to a T.

Did anyone else totally not buy Reyes' Spanish? Born in Mexico my ***; I've been taking Spanish for six years now (NOT a native speaker, though I've been around many people who are) and there's no way she is. Native speakers who learned in Mexico speak faster, use more slang, and are far more comfortable with the language than Reyes acted. Her pronunciation wasn't off, exactly, but it sounded like she learned it in school, not like she spoke it from birth. I know it's possible that she was lying to the guy when she said she was born in Mexico, but if he's a native speaker (or even knows much of the language, or has ever spoken to a native speaker) he should have called her on it.

The scene with Doggett breaking down as he remembers Luke is probably one of my favorite Robert Patrick scenes on the show. It's just heartbreaking to watch. The bike concept takes on greater meaning in "Release."

I wondered about Doggets beard stubble - I can understand him looking scruffy in prison, but once he's out, he still doesn't shave, or wear clean clothes, or anything like. Has it to do with the fact that he is so distraught about his loss of memory and personal self that he doesn't care about how he looks?

Why would it be less dangerous to take a persons memory and therefore identity than to kill them? It seems to be more dangerous, as the people still can be found (like the banker doggett was looking for in the first place), but if they lost all their memory, people will be suspicious. If you send an investigator into a samll town and he doesn't come out, you will think that sth. is wrong.

I wonder why this case became an x-file so quickly in the first case. When a banker disappears and reappears without his memory, I would look for certain medications or signs of head surgery first, not suspect some guy with paranormal powers.

So, did scully and skinner disobey direct orders from kersh, or did they take leave?

SO convenient that Doggett remembers his past, whereas from what-his-name's comment "You don't", it seems fairly obvious that no one else has ever recovered theirs. Influence of his son, perhaps, whose appearance seems slightly paranormal?

I did like the episode, although we had an excess of "I've been beaten to a pulp but I can still stand, run and fight as though I were in full health". Yes, I too thought RP did a great break down scene and the episode kept me gripped until the end. I loved the idea that were you to forget everything, you could become the opposite of what you had been.

Scully and Skinner were off sick, Constanze :-)

I'd have signed his sick forms myself just for the cavalry charge at the end.......:-)
