This episode is titled Sunshine Days.
From The X Files official website:
A mysterious death leads Agents Scully, Doggett and Reyes to a seemingly quiet suburban neighborhood and a man who is driven by his obsession with "The Brady Bunch." Vince Gilligan directs "Sunshine Days" from his own script. The episode is set to air on May 12th.
unbelievably lame.
Two guys break into the house in the opening, and one is thrown through the roof and killed. When Scully performs an autopsy on him, she reveals that his name is McCormick.
This is another Brady joke. The actress who played Marcia on the show was named Maureen McCormick.
I thought for a pre-ultimate episode this was pretty weak. It had a cute moment or two but for the most part it didn't do much for me.
The video confronce they had was far to smooth. Even with broadband, video confroncing still has a low framrate and can be choppy.
Well, it's the FBI, part of the government, so of course they might have a T3 connection. But hey, wasn't it nice to see David Faustino return to where he got started, on FOX?
This episode continue The X-Files tradition of preceding a dark, serious, character-life changing event episode with a light, funny, weird episode. At first I was afraid they weren';t going to do it this year.
I LIKED this episode (so far I seem to be in the minoirty, but I liked the Planet of the Apes remake so I'm used to that feeling)! I think that Robert Patrick could have a future career as a StraightMan in a comedy movie. The new Abbot! ;-)
Is it my imagination or was the camera noticeably shaking during the scenes when Doggett and Reyes are first meeting the second perpetrator from the beginning, when knocking on the psychokinetic man's door, and when speaking briefly with the psychokinetic man with the second perpetrator's presence? I thought it had something to do with the episode, but it was most obvious for only these few scenes.
While this was wildly inappropriate for so late in the series' run, it was a smile-inducing, pleasant show. Having a "monster" that just wanted to be loved was nice, and there are some great moments--Reyes describing her trip to Television City (and Doggett's LOOK he gives her), Doggett talking about old TV shows, Bud Bundy getting killed.
And some Doggett/Reyes action if you're into that.
