I just want to say that as a member of the Rhode Island community, there is no Route 8 in Rhode Island at all. To get from Providence to Chepatchet, you take U.S. Route 44 West. I don't have access to a map right now either, bu I don't think it's 20 miles from Providence to chepatchet either....it's more like 10-15.

It's impossible to get an exact distance without knowing the origin and destination points exactly. But plugging in Providence and Chepachet into Yahoo! Maps results in a distance of 19.6 miles.

After Scully arrives at the motel, she reports to Mulder that the manager has no record of phone calls or visitors to Mulder's room. Phone calls, sure, but visitors? This is a typical "no-tell motel," with all the doors (including the manager's office) opening directly on to the parking lot. The only way there would be no "record" is if there was a security camera aimed at the door of Mulder's room and the manager or Scully reviewed the footage and found no visitors. Otherwise, all the manager can say is that he or she didn't notice any visitors. The phrasing, though, is not the main point; it's the fact that Scully regards this "information" as reliable, rock-solid testimony when it's clearly not.

(I guess it would be possible for the manager to state that he has "no record of visitors" if the motel has a policy that all visitors must sign in at the desk and the visitor's log shows no visitors. Then, yes, the manager has no record of visitors. But at a motel like this, such a record would be of little or no use, as anyone could simply drive up and knock at the door without the manager seeing.)

So, Mulder's folks owned a summer house in Chepachet. Don't they also own a beach house in Quonochontaug? How many houses do they have? Are the Mulders some kind of big Rhode Island land barons?

When M&S arrive at Goldstein's office Scully takes up two parking spots, blocking in a black jaguar. Why would TPTB go with this shot? (Yeah, scraping the barrel here)

Mulder wants to talk to his mother and he says her house is in Greenwich, I assume CT. They go there but no location is overlayed on screen like we've seen so many times before for some reason.
