Although dopetests have proved negative, top trainer John Fenby is convinced that his horses are being nobbled. His main worry now is that someone will get to Top Boy, his finest racehorse and a favorite to win the prestigious St. Leger race. Sid Halley sends his own security man, Bill Slocombe, to guard the stable. While patrolling, Bill it attacked and severly beaten by intruders. Whenan empty hypodermic needle is found near the stable Sid is certain someone has tampered with Top Boy, but when tested there is no sign of dope in his blood. Can they find an answer in time?
