In M:I 2, just as Thandie Newton's car is about to go off that precipice, it would've been cool to see Thandie mouth "Oh sh*t!" :-)

By Spornan on Thursday, September 28, 2000 - 1:58 am:

I'm sorry, but it's not possible for anything in M:I 2 to be cool.

It's just not possible.

Jared, delete that post will you? It's EXTREMELY off-topic.

By Jtodhunter (Jtodhunter) on Thursday, September 28, 2000 - 10:44 pm:

Well Brian, I was going to, but seeing as the overwhelming majority of suggestions I've put in place have been yours, I won't delete it now that you've asked. I'm afraid it's starting to look like I'm playing favorites. If someone else asks however, I'll gladly delete the off-topic message.

Eesh, just making a little joke.

By Eric Moffatt on Friday, September 29, 2000 - 9:27 am:

I don't see the message as being bad - it was just a joke.

Casablanca... Ilsa starts to board the plane, and suddenly turns around and runs into Rick's arms.

By Brian Webber on Friday, September 29, 2000 - 11:30 pm:

Scott: That would've ruined the movie!

By Sax Russel on Saturday, September 30, 2000 - 12:40 am:

I have to agree with Brian on that one.

By ScottN on Saturday, September 30, 2000 - 1:46 pm:

True... but look at the title of the board.

Funny story... many years ago, how I found out for sure that I was truly in love with Mrs. ScottN (This is before we were married)...

We were watching Casablanca on the tube, and the Future Mrs. ScottN said "I want to watch Golden Girls". Being the suave gentleman that I am (dodges the lightning bolt), I said OK. Later, she said, "Let's rent a movie... something romantic." By the fact that I didn't kill her right then and there, I knew I was in love with her. I did point out that she had turned off the most romantic movie of all time...

I want to see a disaster movie that shows the disaster happening
in detail. Like if a tornado is about to hit a house, I want to see it crack apart (view from the inside), and the tornado hitting the house, and shredding it (still with the view from inside). The closest I have seen of this was in a cable TV movie (can't remeber the name). This is not to be confused with the one that aired around the time Twister came out (also can't remember the name. :(

A great moment that never happened . . .what about the end of the Birds? If there is such a thing . . .

Return of the Jedi: On Jabba's sail barge, just before Luke swings with Leia on the rope over to the skiff, he kisses her on the cheek and says," For luck!" (Considering the later revelations in this same movie, it would have to be on the cheek!)

Wasn't Spock supposed to get the last word in "Star Trek The Motion Picture?" (Kirk: "Out there. Thataway." Spock: "A most logical choice, Captain.") Spock did get the last words in Treks III and V.

By Richard Davies on Sunday, June 24, 2001 - 4:41 am:

Unless the Special Edition has it edited out I can't find the bit of Star Wars where Luke called Leia Carrie. I've been told it was in the rebel base after the attack on the Death Star. It's also tricky to spot the storm trooper who runs into a door as this bit is in the background when the action is near the camera, just like the bits where Darth Vader has a white stick for a light saber.

By cableface on Tuesday, September 04, 2001 - 3:01 pm:

Personally, I think the Phantom Menace would have been a lot cooler if Maul han't simply watched his approaching death.Picture this: Obi-Wan comes flying back up to the ledge, grabs the lightsabre and attacks again. The fight is even more vicous, buit this time it's Maul who's on the defensive. It goes on like this until Maul raises his arms to defend himself. Lightning fast, Obi-wan chops off his raised arms, slices him through the middle, and nails what's left to the wall by drilling the sabre through him. Now that would have been cool, and way better than little Mannequin Skywalker "accidentally" succeeding to do what hundreds of trained, experienced starfighter pilots could not.Obi-Wan should have killed him too, saved the whole universe a lot of trouble..........

By Adam on Wednesday, September 05, 2001 - 7:41 am:

I like the idea of the fight continuing until Obi-Wan cuts his arm off. Then the fight continues until he cuts Maul's other arm off. Then the fight continues until he cuts one of his legs off. Then the fight continues until... well you get the idea.
Anakin's destroying the control ship had nothing to do with his skill, it was the will of the force, nothing happens by accident.

By cableface on Wednesday, September 05, 2001 - 3:36 pm:

Maybe that was the intention, but to me it just seemed like "Whoops, I've just accidentally saved the day." It took the whole edge and sense of urgency out of the battle for me.Aside from which, I really don't think Lloyd was a good choice for Anakin at all. I'm not a huge fan of child actors anyway, but moppets like Haley Joel Osmant have shown that there are child actors who (gasp) can act, and do it very well. Lloyd was not one of these moppets.

Short Circuit:After ripping apart the car, Number 5 should've said "Jerkmobile disassembled." (He was present when Ally Sheedy called it a Jerkmobile.)

In response to Mark Bowman's Feb 2001 post:
The first movie you seem to be referring to is "Night of the Twisters," and the scene was rather spectacular. (A teenage boy is trying to get his baby brother from an upstairs bedroom to the relative safety of the basement, while the tornado shreds the house around him. Incredible effects for a tv movie, and this came out about 2 years before "Twister.") I'd heard about this film from someone who'd seen it on cable tv, and I kept watching out for it...I eventually found a copy on vhs, but don't know if it's still available.
The other film (that came out around the time of "Twister") may have been called "Tornado," but I can't remember for sure. I know Bruce Campbell was in it, and I think Ernie Hudson (of Ghostbusters fame) was as well.
As for a moment that never happened on film, Star Trek III's Enterprise destruct sequence would have benefitted from one minor addition (which the comic book adaptation did have, so it gets the credit for the idea): just after the destruct countdown begins and the crew rushes to the turbolift to evacuate, Kirk turns and pauses. "Admiral," Scotty advises, "we haven't much time."
"I know," replies Kirk. "I just wanted one last look."
