Windaria

Nitcentral's Bulletin Brash Reflections: Movies: Animation: Non-Disney Films: Windaria

This may not be a nit, but Marie mentions
that Juliet drank polluted water
from the Shadowlands, and because of
that, she is "in her own world". Later, a
narriator mentions that she was waiting for her
lover to return (which didn't happen) before
before reaching Enlightenment. She is
clearly upset over the second reason, and something like this could cause someone to
wind up "in their own world." I don't know
if anything was changed in the dub, but
somehow, the first reason didn't really
quite fit into the story, and appeared
"tacked on" There was nothing about
Juliet's actions to support that she was
"in her own world" due to drinking bad water,
and she did talk to Alan when he was begging
Marie to take him with her to Enlightenment.

At the end, Alan asks Juliet who she was.
Wasn't Alan the one who called Juliet by name
over to the meeting under the tree earlier
in the movie (but then, he was very upset
at losing his wife, and being duped into
flooding Lunaria, causing thousands of
deaths).

Also, Juliet's body turned to
stone, suposedly when being called to
Enlightenment (though there is no
weeeeerrrr sould effect after
this happens). When Marie got called, she
was transfigured into a bird-like creature,
that flies to a blimp-like ship, (apparently)
as did everyone else.
