Sweet movie. Too bad they don't make any more Transformers cartoons or movies. I am talking about the original cartoon, with The Autobots and Decepticons, not Beast Wars or Beast Machines (each of which is good in its own right).

Ah, to long for the good old days...

By Adam on Wednesday, March 15, 2000 - 6:27 am:

In Japan MANY more seasons of the cartoon followed the movie. Some highlights were
*The destruction of Cybertron
*The Deaths of Optimus Prime (again) and Ultra Magnus.
*The destruction of Mars.
*The arrival of the Headmaster
*The arrival of, yes you're reading this right, Breast Master.

I have a good question, how does Astrotrain change his size? Inside he is large enough to hold Devestator, but in robot mode he is no larger than the rest of the Disepticons.

Someone told me that the song That Dirk Diggler performs in Boogie Nights,"you've got the touch" or something like that, first appeared in this movie. Please someone tell me that they were joking.

By Nawdle on Thursday, June 22, 2000 - 3:03 am:

If it is the same song, it's no joke Meg. It's track #1 on side 1 of my "THE TRANSFORMERS:THE MOVIE ORIGINAL MOTION PICTURE SOUNDTRACK" cassette.

The Touch
Performed by STAN BUSH
Produced by Richie Wise

My God. I'm going to have to rent the movie now and see it for myself.

In case you can't find a copy of the movie... Yes, The Touch is in the movie. There is no doubt about it.

Ok, The Transformers may be off the airwaves, but its sequel isn't. Beast Wars and Beast Machines are two shows that pick up several million years (!) after Transformers left off.

Anyone here got the original copy on VHS to compare with the new Rhino DVD version?

Apart from the obvious re-doings of all the flashy lights (The gun fire etcetcetc) I'd swear there are extra bits added to scenes that /were/ already in the theatre release of the movie. Either that or I'm just paying more attention this time round....anyone care to clarify/also think this?

Laserbeak's playback of Optimus Prime is different in the DVD version, and there are a couple new shots added in the playback as well.

I just got the DVD and was compairing it with my friend's copy of the cassette.

Well, rejoice, fellow TransFans! In 2006, to tie in with the release of the live-action movie a year later, Sony/BMG released a 2-Disc Special Edition of the TF animated movie, with both full and widescreen versions included!

And this set is loeaded with a treasure trove of extras! And the movie itself looks ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS! I so totally love that the TF Movie is on DVD, especially on a SE version like this one!

Get it today! And remember "Until that day, 'Til All Are One!"

Hello again. I should have said that in '06, it was the 20th Anniversary of the animated TF movie. So therefore, they re-released it in a special edition.

And the fact that the live-action movie came out a year later was just a coincidence.

I still really like both!
