This Harold Lloyd movie was made late in his career and is a "talkie". It is also not standard Harold Lloyd fare. However, it is very good. In it, Harold plays Ezekial Cobb, the son of a missionary in China who returns home to America after twenty years. He is a very proper man who believes in kindness, honor, and charity. He is soon used by a corrupt group in a run for mayor as a candidate sure to lose. Since this IS a movie, he wins. The rest of the movie shows how he deals with the situation. Its not as good as "Safety Last!" (what is?) but its still a good watch.

Warning: This movie was made in the 1930s, so there are unflattering portrayals and terms for Chinese, African-Americans, and Irish. Pretty much everyone else too, come to think of it. One interesting note is that though there are repeated ethnic slurs against the Chinese, they are portrayed as a largely wise, honorable race. I recommend this movie if you can find it.
