Paramount had another press screening for it tonight at the Loews Lincoln Square (they had our company do it on three consecutive nights two weeks ago), and I managed to get 37 press folders!

If anyone wants 'em, email me, or let me know here.

I also got an The Italian Job mini shopping shopping bag, in which I carried them. If anyone wants that too, first one to email me or ask for it here gets it.

Luigi, I'd like one of the Tomb Raider folders, though if you could spare two, I know someone else who'd really appreciate it, too! Thanks in advance!

I saw it tonight (or last night? Last night and tonight since Midnight came in the middle of the show.)

It was better than the first one. It had much more of a plot and it was coherent. Maybe it was the Scottish guy. Or maybe it has something to do with Greek archaeology. It's not often in entertainment that the movie sequel is better then the original, as many know. But, much like Star Trek, the second Tomb Raider movie did not have to try hard to surpass the original.

Tomb Raider had all of the things that you would expect in a modern action movie. Lots of guns, people dying, our heroes wiping out enemy forces with their pistols while the henchmen can't hit a thing with their automatics. Like every other action film, it stretched plausibility. Yeah, nothing new. But it can still be fun to watch.

I liked Lara much more this time than I did last time. I don't know why, maybe this movie mader her more fallible or maybe she seemed more like a human in this one. And Angelina Jolie is still very very hot.

I liked Butler's character, Sheridan. But then again, I usually like Scottish guys, esp. the rogue super agent type ones in these kinds of movies. And, like Joe Pantoliano, I usually like Djimon Hounsou in anything, even if he gets a small part and all his characters are similar.

Of course, there were the parts that seemed directly ripped from Raiders of the Lost Ark. Like, the whole premise. But I'm not sure you can blame that one on the movie. It is based on the video game.

But, it was nothing special. Above average for an action flick, but no more.
Grade: B-

Okay, now that that's out of the way.

When they showed the helicopter video game I wondered if it would lead to something later in the movie. I was glad to see it did.

For living in that tiny boat in Hong Kong, that family had a really, really nice Panasonic T.V. I guess it is Hong Kong.

Considering the pressure that's probably pushing on that temple, wouldn't the water rush in a little faster when it starts to collapse?

Does punching a shark actually work?

In the lab when Lara is fighting Reiss's #1 henchman, don't they seem to go through their clips really fast? They don't seem to fire that many bullets before reloading.

Can one really ride a motorcycle on the Great Wall like that? Aren't there people on that bridge?

And what is with that Sheridan guy? He has his freedom, a place to live, and the love of Lare Freakin' Croft and he gives it all up so he can be rich? Has he seen her house? Some of us have no hope.
