It was a good movie, if disturbing in some parts. But disturbing can be fun to watch. I actually cared about the characters. Well, the good ones anyway.
Grade: High

Very good flick. One of the scarier movies in recent memory.

By SaintSteven on Friday, August 01, 2003 - 11:05 pm:

Actually, this movie was loosely based on the Omega Man, which is based on Richard Matheson's "I am Legend."

By That Monster Guy on Sunday, August 03, 2003 - 5:35 pm:

Actually, The Omega Man was a remake of the Vincent Price flick, The Last Man On Earth which was based on the story I Am Legend. I'm only pointing this out because I strongly dislike The Omega Man, and much prefer the orignal.

By markvthomas on Monday, August 04, 2003 - 10:07 am:

Whatever happened to the proposed remake of
"I Am Legend", with Arnold Schwarznegger as the lead ?

By Brian Fitzgerald on Monday, August 04, 2003 - 10:12 pm:

Sank under the weight of it's own budget and the pulg was pulled when they couldn't get enought funding secured.

I think when the main character came out of the hospital and walked around London, they should have played Pink Floyd's "Is There Anybody Out There?"

By Brian Webber on Monday, August 25, 2003 - 10:39 pm:

Hannah: No, WAY too obvious. The only worse choice would've been "I Think I'm Alone Now." :)

By Art Vandelay on Tuesday, August 26, 2003 - 4:02 am:

When he is walking around London at the start looking for ppl, I'm pretty sure you can see someone walking towards him at one point. I believe the scene was shot early in the morning when the streets were quiet but obviously one pedestrian was wandering around.

By Oliver Stemforn on Sunday, April 20, 2008 - 10:08 pm:

This movie had UNNECESSARY amounts of strong swearing in it AND unnecessary bottom nudity of
the main young male character.

By Brian FitzGerald on Monday, April 21, 2008 - 12:50 pm:

I wouldn't call the swearing unnecessary. They are in a situation where everyone around them is being violently killed by fast moving zombies. I don't think watching their language was what anyone was thinking about.

As for the nudity, it's about as necessary as the usual T&A that so many horror films have, who cares?

By Jessica Hall (Mayfly) on Tuesday, April 22, 2008 - 7:08 am:

Is the nudity not a reference...in a way...to the fact that he is the only person left (so we think. Are supposed to think.)? Sort of Adam in the Garden of Hell, plus he's being reborn into a new life?

I always cry at the bit with his parents, and when he reads the bit "Don't wake up".

Stunning film, loved it.

I would assume that the entire U.K. was placed under quarantine.

Oddly, no mention is made of the Chunnel. Did the French government places troops at the Calais entrance to make so no one got out that way?
