Not bad.

For an independent fan film, pretty good costuming and makeup, and good use of lighting. Not much in the way of a coherent story, but this appears to have been made to showcase the creators' abilities, and to have fun. I hope he gets his foot in the door because of it.

The actor portraying the Joker is Andrew Koenig. Is this the same son of Walter "Chekov" Koenig from Star Trek, who appeared as Tumak in Sanctuary(DS9)?

Note: This appears to follow the Tim Burton movie continuity, in that the Joker mentions that the Batman created him.

Nit: The radio heard in the beginning mentions Dr. Harley Quinn, instead of Dr. Harleen Quinzel.

Actually, I'd almost definetly say it does NOT follow the Tim Burton continuity.
For one thing, the costume doesn't match. For another, I think they mentioned it in the making of documentary.

I liked this film overall. I thing the joker was the best one we've ever seen on screen.
But the film's tangent was a bit pointless (though I hear it was based on an actuall comic sequence) and the ending was a little unsatisfying.

The costumes and effect, however? Top Notch!

Christian Bale Will Be The Next Batman.

Um...didn't the Joker DIE in Batman the Movie?

By Brian Webber on Saturday, September 13, 2003 - 1:09 am:

John: Well, if what I've read before is accurate, Batman 5 as it's being inappropiately called ill be based on the Frank Miller Batman masterpeice Batman: Year One.

Frankly I think restarting THIS franchise is a good idea (as opposed to that POS re-start of the Jack Ryan series called The Sum of All Fears with Ben Assfleck). I never like the Tim burotn/Joel Schumacher movies. Well, no I did like Batman Forever a little.

I prefer to call him Ben Asslick. :)

Darth: I agree! With the exceptions of Good Will Hunting, Daredevil, and Shakespere In Love, name ONE non-Kevin Smith directed move that Ben was good in. Well, it hasn't come out yet but maybe Paycheck will be good. I mean, with Minority Report being good, maybe the string of bad movies based on Phillip K. Dick stories is over.

Back on topic for a moment: Am I the only one finds Bale a little bland? I had the misfortune to see American psycho in theatres, and the re-make of Shaft would've been better without him.

By LUIGI NOVI on Saturday, September 13, 2003 - 11:38 pm:

I didn't care for him in either Shakespeare in Love or Daredevil, and his part in Good Will Hunting was small. The only movie in which I found him believable was Chasing Amy. He really came off like a comic book artist in that movie; he reminded me of some of the friends I went to art school with. But in everything else, he just comes off as a male supermodel.

As for Bale, I really liked him in Equilibrium, despite the fact that he was supposed to be playing a guy with (initially) no emotions.
