Dumb and Dumber

Nitcentral's Bulletin Brash Reflections: Movies: Comedy: Dumb and Dumber
By D. Stuart on Saturday, September 27, 2003 - 12:46 am:

Lloyd (Jim Carrey) has trouble reading a newspaper article regarding a philanthropic gala by the Swanson Family about a quarter to the end of the movie. It's as if the scene's intended to reveal how illiterate Lloyd is when it comes to reading. However, earlier in the movie, while he and Harry (Jeff Daniels) were on the road, Lloyd was in the men's room urinating. He read with great ease solicitous graffiti that forewarned that mean trucker's arrival.

Minor nitpick, yes, but a nitpick nonetheless. By the way, DO NOT bother wasting your time or money seeing the prequel Dumb and Dumberer: When Harry Met Lloyd. I might as well have tossed my money into the toilet and flushed. Only one joke got me laughing, and it was one of tremendously crude taste. It was the scene involving the "brown substance" smeared all over the bathroom, Bob Saget actually being funny for THE FIRST TIME I've ever witnessed.

Luigi Novi: As opposed to wasting my time watching this movie? :)

I walked out after about a half hour.

That is so, so wrong. :)

During graduate school, I knew a guy named Mike. During college, I knew a guy named Jim.
If you put these two together, you would have "Dumb and Dumber."

Dumb and Dumberer was awful. I did uncontrollably shout out "Mr. Wendy" at the end of the film, however, when he appeared as the school superintendant.

I walked out of this film about halfway or so, one of the rare times I ever did so in a film.

I've never walked out, but dammit I've wnated to several times. American Psycho, Circle of Friends, and the Disney version of Hunchback of Notre Dame come immediately to mind.

The 2014 film
"Dumb and Dumber To" was a decent third installment in this series and it had a cool theatrical poster
