Attack of the Killer Tomatoes

Nitcentral's Bulletin Brash Reflections: Movies: Thriller/Horror: Attack of the Killer Tomatoes

Probably the most noted B-movie ever made is now on DVD! Digitally restored with additional soundtrack & sound effects! The DVD comes with a commemorative "Attack of the Killer Tomatoes" Movie Poster. Exclusive interviews & trivia!

BTW...did you know the helecopter crash that occured in the movie was REAL?! It was NOT staged! It really happened! Thankfully no one was hurt...but remains one of the goofiest scenes shot ever.

By John A. Lang on Friday, October 03, 2003 - 8:14 pm:

I must note that 2 scenes were mysteriously not included in the DVD release. I cannot help but wonder why.

Scene 1. Mason Dixon checks in at the Military base.

Scene 2. Lois getting chewed out by her boss.

Years ago, when I first saw that helicopter crash, I thought "Wow, they crashed a real helicopter for a dippy movie like this... cool!" I had no idea it wasn't supposed to happen!

So, does the dvd include lyrics for the hit song that plays a pivotal point in the story?

By John A. Lang on Monday, October 06, 2003 - 10:18 am:

Absolutely!
They have a sing-along for ALL the songs...including "Puberty Love"

I think the film's sequels stretched the concept out too far.

This movie is as bad as....The Man With 2 Brains...

The Man With Two Brains is a 1983 Steve Martin comedy, with Martin as a brain surgeon, and Kathleen Turner as his philandering wife. Are you sure you didn't mean either The Thing With Two Heads (with Ray Milland and Rosey Grier} or The Incredible Two-Headed Transplant (with Bruce Dern and Pat Priest)?

By ScottN on Wednesday, February 01, 2006 - 1:59 pm:

Side note: The sequel, Return of the Killer Tomatoes, featured George Clooney.

That happened on the base where I was stationed at the time, about 1/4 mile from where I worked. My secured area was surrounded by tomato fields, which is probably why they were filming there.

Adam, I think it was a fifties oldie or a similar title to that effect.
