Is this a movie about former President John Garfield?
"Jennifer Love Hewitt as Jon's girlfriend."
There are at least three things wrong with that sentence. JLH is a no-talent hack, she's playing Jon's girlfriend, and since when does Jon have a girlfriend?!?
Jon's girlfriend, did I hear something about that?
Well, folks, I just stopped by to tell you something. My lovely domain has finally frozen over. Have a nice day, you hear?
Dude: Since when does Jon have a girlfriend?!?
Luigi Novi: I don't know if he's ever had a girlfriend, but back when I was reading the comci strip as a kid, Jon dated a veterniarian named Liz.
And a very fat chick named Bertha. (Blind date from a wrong number).
Dude: Since when does Jon have a girlfriend?!?
Luigi Novi: I don't know if he's ever had a girlfriend, but back when I was reading the comci strip as a kid, Jon dated a veterniarian named Liz.
As long as I could remember, he's never had success.
He went on exactly one date with her - IIRC he tricked her into agreeing while she was busy examining Garfield ("So, doc, coat looks good?" "Mm-hm." "Any changes in the feeding?" "Mm-hm." "Go out with me this Saturday?" "Mm-hm...Hey, wait..!" "YESSSSSSS!!")
Of course the whole thing was a ludicrous disaster, beginning with Jon ripping his coatsleeve off in the car door and building to a grand crescendo of him cleaning his tie - the one the maitre d' fitted out him with because the first was too ugly - in the floating-candle dish, it catching on fire, and dousing it in the water pitcher. By the time he gets down off the table, Liz is long gone.
There is however the animated short Garfield Gets a Life, in which Jon goes to an assertiveness course and meets his female counterpart. Unfortunately she's allergic to cats, so they don't actually have a future or anything, but the do agree to remain friends.
In the sixth Garfield book, Jon has successful date with Liz, and even gets a goodnight kiss at the end.
Hey! All I hear is Jon Jon Jon?
I wanna see a movie where Garfield can kick a dog off a table for 2 hrs and not get sued.
Even Jon's love life is better than mine of late, but that's another story.....
On Garfieldmovie.com
Holy cow, the "Odie" looks retarded, it's a real dog and it doesn't look anything like Odie. Why can't Odie be CGI
It doesn't make any sense.
Will the actor Breckin Meyer "Road Trip" "Clueless"
see IMDB.com
will his part as Jon Arbuckle in the Garfield movie, be his "Signature"
Will he be famous as "Jon Arbuckle"
Matt: We don't need three frigin' boards for Garfield. This and the thing about three trailer could just as easily go in the first topic created for this flick, and I intend to ask the Moderator to take appropaite actions (i.e. move the posts and delete the superfluous boards).
So when is Snoopy getting a live action movie?
Sorry, no live action Snoopy for this fan!
And just WHY do we even need a Garfield film? IMO, the strip hasn't been funny for years. (Now, if they made it like the early strip, it might be passable...)
You should see the new
trailer at
Garfieldmovie.com
They should have made all the main animals, CGI
Nermal,Arlene,Odie.
Kahane, Peres, Ben-Guiron, Gamera, Kenny, Tibby, Kim Catrall, Crow, Lil' Abner, Daisy Duke....
I used to hate Garfield as a kid, and the annoying girl next door would always dress her beloved Garfield doll in baby clothes. Hated those dumb Garfield suction cup dolls to stick on car windows.
This is a bit of 80's nostalgia I'm not looking forward to... and as for other cartoon to CGI creations: Is it going to be as bad as Rocky and Bullwinkle or Scooby Doo?

How is Jennifer Love Hewitt a no talent hack ? She has to have talent, otherwise she would never have became an actress to begin with, she had to have talent to become an actress.
See this article, https://www.thesun.co.uk/tvandshowbiz/11398484/jennifer-love-hewitt-original-jlo-before-jennifer-lopez?utm_source=facebook&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=sharebarweb About how Jennifer Love Hewitt was called JLo long before Jennifer Lopez took the nickname for herself
The Garfield 2021 Film by Mark Dindal, does anyone know when it will be released ?
Yes. The producers and the distributors.
They're making another one!?
Kevin, I know the pandemic has ruined a lot of things, but when will the
Garfield CGI film by Mark Dindal be released ?
As Kevin is neither a producer or distributor for the film he wouldn’t know.
Why not just do an all animated movie.
Filmmakers are becoming too dependent on CGI these days, IMO.
First Chris Pratt has been cast as
Super Mario, now Garfield,
Who should Chris Pratt voice next ?
I think he should voice Jeff Winters.
@JD: What do we think?
BUt when he gets to heaven who will voice the losers that he knows will be there?
Rodney, why do you ask that ?
I've seen articles online saying
Countless people on the Internet want
English Actor Matt Berry to voice Garfield
Because when I get To
Heaven I am wondering if I will
be seeing those Loosers who made
Me mad and Caused me pain.
Okay, everyone, we've had our fun.
Back to Garfield.
Tim, Excellent idea ,
Love Garfield !!!

From a long time ago:
Is this a movie about former President John Garfield?
Who's John Garfield? The U.S. President was named James Garfield.
Of course, this is about the cat.
The 2004 film "Garfield: The Movie" should have had a much larger role for Garfield creator Jim Davis. Jim Davis appeared for like literally one second in the film as he gets off this bus and didn't say a single word. He should have had a speaking part like the late Stan Lee did in many of the Marvel Cinematic Movies, plus the 2006 sequel film
"Garfield: A Tail of two Kitties" was really boring, very poorly made
Did every occur to you, Jeff, that perhaps he didn't want a bigger part? That perhaps he wanted to do an Alfred Hitchcock* instead?
*meaning that, in every movie he ever made, Hitchcock had a brief cameo in.
Hitchcock most certainly did not have a cameo in every movie he made. A lot of them, yes, but definitely not all.
According to Wikipedia, he had a cameo in 40 of his 54 surviving movies.
So, most of them then. I know of a few of Mr. Hitchcock's cameos:
1. In Psycho, he can be seen standing in front of the bank that Marion (Janet Leigh) works at.
2. Near the start of The Birds, he can been seen coming out of pet shop, walking a dog.
3. While he doesn't appear in person in Lifeboat, he can be seen on a weight loss ad in the newspaper that one of the characters reads.
Anyway, perhaps that is what Jim Davis was doing here, pulling a Hitchcock.
OMG, I just read a few minutes ago in Numerous online articles that Samuel L. Jackson will be the voice of Garfield's Father "Vic" in the upcoming
Garfield Movie coming out in 2023 with
Chris Pratt voicing Garfield.
Didn't know Garfield had a father. I mean he had to have at one point, but his existence has never been revealed before.
The release date of The new Garfield Movie will actually be in
February 2024 ,
https://variety-com.cdn.ampproject.org/v/s/variety.com/2022/film/news/garfield-release-date-chris-pratt-1235332836/amp/
I hope it's as good as the
2015 film "The Peanuts Movie"
Well, you'll just have to wait then.
What would be a catchy cool title for the upcoming 2024 Garfield Movie
It should have a much more
creative title than
"Garfield: The Movie" which was the title of the 2004 Live Action Garfield Movie
Garfield: The Motion Picture?
Garfield: The Cinema Experience?
Garfield in Extra Widescreen?
;-)
Garfield: The Final Frontier
I found this on YouTube , is this an accurate description of what the
2024 Garfield Movie will look like
see https://youtube.com/shorts/7od0mnZvA5c?feature=share4
You tell us. Is it?
Garfield: The Undiscovered Country
Garfield: The Search for Lasagna
Garfield: The Wrath Of Odie
Remember the 2000 film
"The Adventures of Rocky & Bullwinkle" Remember the part in this film
where Judge Cameo(played by Whoopi Goldberg) says
"Oh my God, Oh my God it's Rocky & Bullwinkle" Imagine if
Whoopi Goldberg appeared as a Judge in a Garfield Movie, a Mixture of
Live Action & Animation like this film, and "Who Framed Roger Rabbit"
And the Judge see's Garfield the cat and Odie the Dumb Lovable
Friendly Dog sitting in the courtroom, and the Judge said
"Oh my God, Oh my God, it's Garfield & Odie !!!"
Wonder if the strikes will affect this one?
My Thoughts on the 2004 Film
"Garfield: The Movie"
"I have been a Loyal Garfield fan since the 3rd grade, when I was 8 years old, And I will never stop loving Garfield and the Garfield Franchise; I still have my very first Garfield book I ordered from a “Weekly Reader” the book was "Garfield Rounds Out: His 16th Book by Jim Davis"
I viewed “Garfield: The Movie” on it’s opening day in 2004. The Film was OK, but it was still a major disappointment, Myself and other Fans in the Garfield Fan Community, wanted to see More Characters from the Garfield Comic Strip appear in the Film, as well as Characters from the Saturday Morning Cartoon show “Garfield and Friends” appear in the Film, we feel the film should have been done as a Mixture of Live Action with Hand drawn animation like the 1988 film “Who Framed Roger Rabbit?” Lyman the original owner of Odie the dumb Lovable Friendly Dog who was also Jon’s Roommate in the Garfield strip in the years 1978 to 1983 should have appeared in the film, Lyman along with other characters from the Garfield Comic Strip such as Irma the Waitress, Binky the Clown, Herman Post the Mailman, Al J. Swindler, Cactus Jake, The Buddy Bears, Hubert and Reba, Also, Jon Arbuckle’s family on the Arbuckle family farm, Mom, Dad and Doc-Boy along with Grandma Arbuckle should have been in “Garfield:The Movie.”
The Plot/Storyline for this film was very similar to the 1982 TV Special “Here Comes Garfield”
The Garfield Comic Strip and Franchise is set in Muncie, Indiana, USA, but this fact is rarely mentioned in the comic strip, but us Garfield fans are well aware of it, all in all, “Garfield: The Movie” was decent but could have been way better, since Garfield Merchandise is usually of very High Quality, Good Moral Values are presented in this Movie, such as Friendship and Helping others, see this Article written by a Fellow Garfield Fan about the 2004 Film, the article is Titled “7 Things the Garfield Movie Got Completely Wrong.” It can be found at this Link, http://www.cracked.com/blog/7-things-garfield-movie-got-completely-wrong/
Lyman the original owner of Odie the dumb Lovable Friendly Dog who was also Jon’s Roommate in the Garfield strip in the years 1978 to 1983 should have appeared in the film, Lyman along with other characters from the Garfield Comic Strip such as Irma the Waitress, Binky the Clown, Herman Post the Mailman, Al J.
None of these characters were essential to the plot of the film.
And you can only squeeze in so many characters in a ninety minute movie.

Give it a rest with the bloody links, Winters.
Sadly Tim there is a new Garfield film so it’s unlikely he will.
Yeah, you're right.
And kitten Garfield is adorable, so he's right about it looking good.
I wonder if it was animated by the same people who did the Peanuts Movie?
Guess we'll find out before long.
This screenrant.com article predicts the Garfield Movie will be the winner

Keith , I agree kitten Garfield is adorable !!
This would also make for
an interesting Garfield Movie

I guess it was too much to ope that you having a blog would rid us of your presence, Winters.
How incredibly dull and boring.
The blog?
I'm not surprised, given the way Winters rambles inanely.
No, I was talking about the video he linked to.
Oddly enough, not the first thing I've seen focusing on Jon (a number of people seem to like the concept, probably inspired by how eccentric Jon came off in the Garfield Minus Garfield strips) this was the first one where I didn't see anything interesting about it. Just dull and boring like a 1970s independent movie.
Winters probably give no thought to the links he posts.
The newest trailer for
"The Garfield Movie"
https://youtu.be/S3XjsSvwSuU?si=95Z4vO1c8Gl6Dd4u It looks good
baby Garfield is called "Junior" by
his Father Vic aka Victor ,
Jon Arbuckle in this trailer names him
Garfield, so in this retcon
Garfield the cat was originally named
Victor
Not long now.
Tim , what do you mean by
"Not long now"
Until the movie comes out.
Tim, OK , but what about my above comment of
Tuesday, March 05, 2024 - 11:24 am
I don't care.
