What films have "Easter Eggs" after the credits? I know Pirates of the Caribbean and Airplane! do, but what other films have them?
What was the first film with such an easter egg? I personally think it was Airplane!, but I could be wrong...
Hmmm... cool topic.
Offhand... I remember Ferris Bueller's Day Off having one. I don't remember the one in Airplane!, but I recall one in Airplane 2. Also, the end of Gremlins 2. It's been a great while since I've seen The Great Outdoors and don't remember if the subtitled raccoons speak after the end credits or just before.
I also recall a few musical Easter eggs at the end of the credits to Poltergeist, Gremlins, and The Phantom Menace.
Airplane! had one, Darth. After the credits, they cut to Howard Jarvis in the cab... "I'll give him five more minutes!"
Hmmm, I think the term "Easter Egg" usually refers to the hidden treats on a DVD that you have to find either at random or by hitting a certain sequence of buttons. There are a few web sites devoted to this.
What you are referring to I've heard called a "stinger", many of which are a highlight of the end of almost every MST3K episode.
It's one reason I (used to) stay until the movie is completely over and off the screen. Nowadays I always get chased out by the cleanup crew, or have to stand up because of the other dorks who stand and watch the credits if there's something underneath them.
A couple that come to mind -- The Muppet Movie -- Animal comes on and says "Go Home!".
Space Jam? Daffy looks at the audience and says "Are you still here?" (I was a bit miffed at that -- forgive me for liking to read who actually worked on a movie).
Priscilla: Queen of the Desert -- the blow-up doll floats down into a Chinese man's hands. (Don't ask!)
Didn't know the "official" terminology. Thanks.
Lethal Weapon 3 had one, as did Young Sherlock Holmes. (Actually, I think YSH's occurred during the end credits, instead of after... it's been years since I've seen the film.)
The hilarious and deliberately cheesey* spoof of sword-and-sorcery films, Deathstalker 2, had a musical stinger several beats after the last credit rolled... it was the bad one-note incidental music cue that appeared during any and every action scene throughout the film. (By the way, don't bother with the first Deathstalker, a low budget sword and sorcery flick that took itself too seriously. I'd seen 2 first, and thought the original would be similar... oops!)
*Cheesey, except for the extremely cool sword fight at the climax!
In Dracula, Dead and Loving It, you can hear Dracula get the "last word" in after the credits.
Doesnt Buffy the Vampire Slayer (The Movie) have Pee Wee's character come back for a few more death throes before the end of the credits. Its been too long since I saw that movie.
"Augh! Ooh! Argh! Ooo..."
(Yes, that does happen.)
After the end of the credits in Aliens, the music fades and silence pervades... silence, except for... the sound of a face hugger skittling across the floor!
Space Jam? Daffy looks at the audience and says "Are you still here?" (I was a bit miffed at that -- forgive me for liking to read who actually worked on a movie). - Influx
Having never seen Space jam, I dunno if it happens then. But Daffy does it during the end credits of Gremlins 2 (but that wasn't what I was referring to when I mentioned that movie as the credits hadn't ended, yet).
eeeeeekkkkk,,,oooooorrrorg, aaaahhhhhggggg. Cool I thought that was in there. I loved that movie and need to get it.
I finally found it on DVD, and didn't have any money!
The Return of the King Special Extended Edition has two easter Eggs. Go to the scene selection menu on disc 1, go to the last batch of scenes and press left on your remote. A small image of a ring should be highlighted.
Do the same drill on the second disc to get another easter egg.
, put that in the wrong section.
