Who woulda thunk it? A teen comedy that actually is very enjoyable, nicely scripted and exceptionally well cast.

I was amazed at the amount of good press, nay, GREAT press this film has been getting so I went along to see this (having been impressed by Lindsay Lohan's excellent turn in Freaky Friday) and I was not disappointed.

On this surface this is a film about one girl getting revenge on another for stealing a potential boyfriend, but this film is a whooooole lot deeper than that. It explores the cliques that schools have from position in the classroom to position in the cafeteria and so on. It also explores how one clique interacts with another.

I won't go into too much plot detail so as not to spoil it for but I will say that Lohan is simply BRILLIANT. She manages to steal the scene in just about everything she's in, that's thanks largely to the director and Tina Fey's (who herself has a pivotal role) excellent script.

Doubt it will win any oscars, Luigi will probably hate it, but go see it anyway.

Actually, I was planning on seeing it if given a chance, because Roger Ebert gave it a good review. The fact that it was based on book of the author's true-life experiences may be what set it apart from typical cliched teen movies.

So, is it as good as "Heathers?"

haven't seen it Monster Guy.

And yes Luigi, Ebert's review certainly turned the tide for me.

Lindsay Lohan's booze and drug escapades are making more headlines than her movies are. Try this.
Keep that nonsense up, Lindsay, and you'll be dead before you're 30.
