Ok, there is a joke in this movie that I just can't seem to get. It goes:
"“Do you have Nosferatu?” “Yes,” Dr. Seward exclaims, “we have Nosferatu! We have Nosferatu today! It just came in!”"
Could someone please explain to me why this is funny? Thanks.
"We have Nosferatu today" sounds sort of similar to "we have no bananas today". That's all I can think of.
Mel Brooks hasn't made a really funny movie in a long time. Spaceballs was intermittently fun, but Life Stinks was better when it wasn't trying to be funny. The recent musical version of The Producers tanked. (Brooks didn't direct it, the Broadway play's director, Susan Stroman, did.) My girlfriend hated the play, and didn't want to see the movie as a result. Guess this is another one for when it gets to HBO.
