Who else is eagerly awaiting George A. Romero's newest zombie epic? I know I'm excited!

Plus, it opens on my birthday. How cool is that?

I'm loking forward to it. Romero has been trying to get this one off the ground for some time.

What day is that? Seriuously, I don't know the date the movie opens.

In any case, I look forward to this movie. I didn't know it was even at the filming stage yet when I saw a commerical for it. Hope it's good.

I wonder how many people will mistake it for a sequel to last years Dawn remake...

Can't wait. Saw something interesting about it when someone asked Romero what the timeframe of the movie is. He said it takes place 3 years after the Zombie outbreak, but it also takes place in the modern day. He said that while each film does seem to tell a continuing story they are not in strict continuity. Night takes place in the 60s, Dawn in the 70s, Day in the 80s and Land in the modern day.

Also like many hardcore fams I was a little disappointed that the movie was not called "Dusk of the Dead" or "Twilight of the Dead".

Meh. I could care less if they called it the Carebears Happy Fun Adventure so long as Romero got to make a fourth zombie movie. Plus "Twilight of the Dead" seems kind of wrong on a certain level. It's more of a "Twilight of the Living", since it's humanity that's in deep doodoo.

Anyway, I noticed in the ads that the movie is rated R, whereas the previous three were, I believe, unrated. I'm somewhat disappointed in that. Sure it will get in to MANY more theaters and hopefully make Romero a ton of money, but I just wonder what kind of compromises he may have had to make to get an R rating. Or worse yet, what compromises others may have made for him. Sure, there will probably be a "balls to the wall" uncut version on DVD, but I was looking forward to it in a theater, as I was far too young with the other three. Well, too young for Dawn and Day and not yet existant for Night... :)

Of course the main theater near me is a 30 screen AMC that doesn't seem to have a problem with unrated or NC-17 movies as near as I can tell, rare as they are, so maybe if the case were different I'd be happier about the R rating.

Oh well. I guess I'll take what I can get.

June 24th (thanks, Psycho Z) will still be a day to look forward to.
