Funny, funny movie. It starts off a little slower than expected, but once the real laughs start, they really don't stop. A couple of sweet, if somewhat cliched, love stories thrown in too. As the title would suggest, the movie is about a couple of friends, John and Jeremy, who find and crash as many weddings as they can in hopes of meeting and sleeping with as many women as they can. They're wildly successful at what they do, so successful that they begin wondering if there isn't more to life than partying, drinking, and lots of sex. After Jeremy convinces John to go to one more wedding at the end of wedding season, the wedding of the daughter of John's favorite senator, John meets what may be the woman of his dreams. As he tries to win her over, however, Jeremy has to put up with the woman of his worst nightmares.

This movie is one big pile of raunchy fun. Owen Wilson's low key, laid back demeanor works well with Vince Vaughn's rapid-fire, mile a minute style and they they off of each other very well. They aren't the only ones that bring the goods. Isla Fisher almost dominates her scenes with her over the top and sometimes disturbing character. It's pretty enjoyable to watch. Jane Seymour gets in on the fun as her boozing, horny wife of the senator while Christopher Walken, unfortunately, has to play the straight man. Even so, his character is very likeable. Rachel McAdams is not only absolutely gorgeous, but she can really act. One fault that the movie has, however, is the character that McAdams' character Claire is dating and later engaged. Sack is the stereotypical cheating, rude, controlling a-hole. I guess he has to be if we're supposed to be rooting for Wilson's lying con man. One would think that a smart girl like Claire (or one of her family) might pick up on the fact that her boyfriend sucks arse, but it doesn't seem to register too strongly. Still, making the guy a total d*ck does lead to what is probably the most satisfying movie moment I've seen this summer, so it can't be all bad.

BTW, the cameo character toward the end of the film may be a little obvious is hindsight, but is still extremely funny.

Anyway, a very funny film that firmly earns its R rating. Highly recommended if you're not easily offended.

I didn't enjoy this movie at all. Owen Wilson was pretty good and like Josh, I loved the cameo at the end but this movie just didn't do it for me.

Also, how many subplots (Todd chasing Jeremy, 'kittykat; chasing John) just stopped dead?

NITS
Claire's boyfriend is suspicious of the crashers, and asks over the phone to his friend to hire an investigator to dig up dirt. Later on, he finds out they are frauds.
BUT since they were there under assumed names and the investigator did not have a visual of the pair, HOW did he expose them?

There's not.

This film made me wish I was as carefree in my youth as John and Jeremy are in this film. Maybe I still can become a case of arrested development in my middle-age...?

There's a false rumor being circulated that Christopher Walken is running for President in 2008, no doubt a prank based on his role in this film. More here.
