What?!!! No Donnie Darko board? Very good, original movie by the way. Still-- a number of things that happen in the particular timeline of most of the movie-- isn't a lot of it orchestrated by our "Rabbit" who otherwise would not be where he is if it was for this particular timeline (which he helps put forth)? Temporal paradoxes. Do not even think of them. :P

Highly recommended. (No spoilers, just see it!)

I'd heard a few snippets about this being a sci-fi movie, but not really much buzz about it. Now that Jake Gyllenhal is getting to be a big star, this was mentioned recently.

Got it from Netflix (the Director's cut). I understand that, like Blade Runner, there are a few different versions out there, but read that for clarity's sake, this is the one to see.

I saw it knowing absolutely nothing about it, just that it was vaguely sci-fi. Found it was one of those movies that really stuck with me, and made me want to see it again.

Not a lot of big SFX, just an interesting storyline and good characters. I especially liked the character of the Dad, a guy that used humor to mask what he must really be feeling about his "wacko" son, yet very encouraging.

This is one messed up movie. And I have watched and enjoyed some messed up movies, but I just did not "get" this one. Maybe if I was stoned or drunk it would have made more sense. All I am glad is that my friend paid for the movie and not me.

Michael A. Novelli, aka "Mr. Mendo," has posted a video review of this movie over at "The Agony Booth." It can be accessed here. (I'm waiting for him, or anyone there, to analyze Buckaroo Banzai. In their own unique way, of course. )

I'm sorry, but can anyone tell me what the heck was going on here. It looked like a drug trip!

And all this nonsense about the world ending, except the movie is set in 1988, a year I myself lived through. Guess what, the world didn't end. And this was not another doomsday date that they got wrong, as this movie was made in 2001, 13 years after 1988.

Since the whole movie "un-happened", does that mean that Patrick Swayze's character gets off scot free (he was secretly a child predator, and the events of the movie revealed that to everyone, but since those events were erased, so was said revelation).
