David is trying to help Elizabeth cross over to the "other side", convinced that she is a ghost. But while she has discovered that she can really walk through walls, she is somehow still alive!
Have you read the novel which this is based on? ("If Only It Were True" by Marc Levy.) It was pretty good.
BTW, does anyone know when this is coming out on video?
Best scene was when David and Elizabeth are arguing after he figures out she's a spirit. Great dialogue exchage:
David:Have you had any traumatic experiences recently?
Elizabeth:Like what?
David: Oh, I don't know. Like DYING?
This was a pretty good movie, albeit owing most of its substance to earlier movies.
This was nicely made fun of on SNL when Jon Heder hosted. During his monologue, a guy dressed as Napoleon Dynamite confronted Jon, claiming that Heder had "ripped off" the Napoleon look from him.
GUY: I've seen the movie.
HEDER: (joking) Oh you mean, my film "Just Like Heaven," huh?
GUY: No, you IDIOT! No one saw that!
