Wow. The trailer for this film looks awesome. We screened this movie last year in White Plains, NY, and I had heard that it was great, but didn't have the opportunity to see it. Can't wait for this one to come out.
Nit: The movie hints that Reeves (supposedly) killed himself because he was "out of work". That is not true.
According to the DVD, "Look, Up In The Sky", Reeves (supposedly) shot himself because he felt "trapped by the role" (of Superman)
A story about a fictional detective who investigates the death of George Reeves.
There are a few nits:
1. The account of the boy who points a real gun at Reeves is considered by some to be ficticious.
2. The scene where the director asks the editing department to remove Reeve's appearance in "From Here To Eternity" is not true whatsoever.
However...
The part which shows Affleck (Reeves) as Superman dropping to the floor after the wire breaks during a flying sequence is true.
Jack Larson confirmed this in the "Superman" biography DVD
MORE NITS:
There's a scene where Reeves (Afleck) is burning the Superman costume and saying, "We're cancelled". WRONG! "The Adventures of Superman" was supposed to air another season...however...it
was cancelled AFTER Reeves' death.
Additionally...George Reeves did not (supposedly) kill himself because he was "out of work"...he felt "trapped by role" (as Superman)
OOPS I mentioned that already. Sorry.
Does this movie also look at the theories that he was murdered?
