I believe it. Sly has had no hits in the last several years. He's very clearly falling back on his franchise characters in hopes of scoring a box office hit. Good luck is all I can say.

Falling back? Groping is more like it.
As posted on another board, he's doing another "Rocky" film too.
He should name the movie: "Rambo IV- The Search For New Material" (or Ideas)
maybe he'll do a Rambo vs. Rocky after he gets a little older. :P
Trailer/Clip.
I don't know why he decides to go after those people in Burma. What, is he sweet on blondes, or something?
Release date is January 25. Film is simply titled Rambo.
Why is the distributor (Lions Gate) dumping this out at the end of January?
Answer: Because it isn't good.
I went to Rambo expecting to see mindless action. You get that too, but there's also some uncomfortably realistic torture/death/rape scenes early on that put a bad taste in one's mouth. I suppose it's a good thing to draw attention to real-life tragedy, but when the rest of the movie is ludicrous, it smacks of exploitation.
That said, the second the mercenaries show up and Rambo begins to do his thing, we have an orgy of mindless violence.
