In "Dangerous Female" (a.k.a. Maltese Falcon 1931)
Sam Spade drops the shot glass with the knockout drops in it twice.
This was the first screen version of the story and starred Ricardo Cortez & Bebe Daniels.

The Maltese Falcon (The Bogart version)
The elevator operator tells Spade that the room he's looking for is to Spade's LEFT, so of course Spade goes RIGHT. Surprisingly it's the correct room.

The weight of the Falcon seems to change. When putting it in storage Spade seems to act like it's heavy, then later Spade's secretary hands it to him without a problem & Spade doesn't seem to have any problem with it. However when Guttman picks it up he really seems to be having trouble with it. At the end a detective comments that it's heavy, but doesn't seem to have that much trouble with it.

Spade's line, "It's the stuff that dreams are made of." is wrong if he's trying to quote Shakespeare. Shakespeare's line was "Such stuff as dreams are made on."
