In "National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation," in the scene where the whole family is huddling against the wall afraid of the squirrel, Catherine's arm is around Rusty in the shots with her back to the camera but it's at her side when she's facing it.

Chevy Chase and Beverly D'Angelo again play the Griswolds in a series of ads for Homeaway.com. You can view them here.

The advent of modern tech has made the first movie into what TV Tropes calls an "Unintentional period piece." Making the movie today would not be feasible as it was in 1983.

Wallyworld, the theme park where the Griswold's were going, would have a website, which would tell people that it was closed. Even if Clark wasn't Internet savvy, his kids would be and they would have told him the place was closed.

The Griswold kids would have modern Iphones, which would include GPS software. So the family would not get off track as much.

Interact would take care of the money problems Clark was having throughout the movie.

Or, the new car that Clark just took delivery of in the movie would have GPS software installed. Which hopefully would work better than the GPS in the Nissan Maxima (an otherwise fabulous car) I rented in January 2020 when I visited my brother in Florida. The GPS had us at the Kennedy Space Center when we still had 30 more miles to go.

Yeah, the movie could not be made now.

Modern technology would eliminate most, or all, of the problems the Griswold clan endured.
