Primary Colors
This is a film version of the novel by "Anonymous" (who was later revealed to be writer Joe Klein) documenting a fictional Presidential campaign (obviously based on Bill Clinton - this movie is as subtle as a sledgehammer about that.)
My real nit is - even the campaign posters are in the style the Clinton/Gore campaign used. Couldn't the art director come up with something original?
Ever since the excellent HBO film The Late Shift, Kathy Bates seems to color every one of her performances with, as Spock said, "colorful metaphors" (this includes her current role on Six Feet Under.) She is a superb actress who was never better than she was in Shift. Are the writers of the films she appears in so enamored of the way she uses foul language that they must have her use as much of it as possible?
