Millennium

Nitcentral's Bulletin Brash Reflections: Movies: Science Fiction/Fantasy: Millennium

Boy, this was my week for watching movies. I found a couple more. One I know is a nit, one I think is.

from Millenium:
I was watching this real-time, so I couldn't check to be sure. However...
People from the future go back into the past - our time - and rescue people off of doomed airplanes. To prepare for one attempt, in 1963, the heroine is shown a jam-packed video clip of that year. (I guess it's supposed to be subliminal learning.) Of course, one of the pictures is the infamous one of John Kennedy Jr. at his father's funeral.
I will admit, it caught my attention, because it had just been on the news (when John Jr's plane went down). It was sort of eerie. But then it made me think.
I don't know when the plane crash in the movie was; that's the part I couldn't check. But unless it was in the last month and half of the year, that clip was out of place. We are so used to thinking of that clip in regards to that year, we forget how late in the year it actually was.
So, in effect, in a movie that's so concerned with not creating a paradox, by their own actions they could have created a paradox.

mei-

JFK was killed on November 22. The earliest that the burial could have been is in the last week of November, so your point is valid.

Did the 1963 video montage happen to show a baby being born in Columbus Hospital in Newark, NJ? It could have been me! :-)
