I really don't know if this counts as a nit,but I was watching the Jimmy Stewart movie Shennadoah on
Thanksgiving and in the scene where his character
Charlie Anderson is visiting the graves of his
wife and two sons and daugther-in-law one son is
identified as Jacob and the other as James.However
Jacob and James are equivalents,Jacob being merely
the Hebrew form of James.

If I recall correctly, Shennadoah is a Western. I would just chalk it up as ignorance. That is, the Andersons just didn't know that James and Jacob are equivilents.
