Jolie and Freeman to star.
Pity they couldn't get Eminem and Halle Berry to star, since that's who the characters played by McAvoy and Jolie were made to resemble in the book. But I guess Berry doesn't want to play a third comic book character, and as for Eminem, who knows?
Trailer's up.
Can't say I was impressed. Instead of a global cabal of supervillains that took over after they beat all the superheroes and did away with them, it's a team of assassins.
Instead of bad guys acting despicably, Morgan Freeman says their group "maintains stability", making it seem as if they're somehow good guys.
No mention of superpowers or anything.
No mention of Rictus, or his plotting against Wesley.
What a disappointment.
Some nice high-res production photos.
Terrible movie based on a comic by Millar..
Sorry but I thought it was an attempt at a Matrix-style movie in the real world, which failed miserably.
It was just not realistic. What were they thinking?
So mr nice guy becomes an assassin..
rather than becoming mr not a pushover ..
(thanks for moving my thread to the right section. I didn't realise the original comic was superhero genre at all, from the movie itself)
I'm sure there will people, even lots of them, who will like and enjoy this movie. I expected some better characterisation overall. Oh well, I hope the new Mummy movie with the Millar screenplay won't be as bad as this one...
I liked this in a sort of dumb way. It's not really that good, but I kind of liked how the film's ending just snarls at you to shut up anyway.
