Unlike the trailers for all those generic-looking genre spoof movies (Date Movie, Epic Movie, Meet the Spartans), this one looks like it might actually be funny.

Link goes to a pulled video. Try this one instead:

And yeah, it looks funnier than "Epic Movie" and "Meet The Spartans". Then again, so does a root canal operation. Seriously though, this does look funny.

The preview and that synopsis on the side at youtube don't seem to have much in common.

"Fabtopolis' greatest supervillain, a magician who goes by the pseudonym The Great Jim, has just kidnapped the city's mayor (Leslie Nielson) and his wife (Laura Kightlinger). Four of the world's most spectacular superheroes are called to the rescue: Beakman (Greg Giraldo) -- the leader of the group, Squak (Eric Christian Olsen) -- the wannabee, Cleara (Carla Gugino) -- the see-through hero, and The Stoner (Ben Harr) -- a loser who becomes a large stone monster when he gets high. The Great Jim is building a device that will allow him to sound like anybody in the world and this group of superheroes must stop him and save the mayor or the entire city will be destroyed."

The only one of those people who are IN this movie is Leslie Nielsen and he's playing an Uncle Ben type character, not the mayor. Weird. Very weird. Also, this was written by the man who wrote Rocketman and Senseless. SENSELESS! I will admit the that trailer looked funny, though.... We'll see.

Awesome review. This is why I love reading Dustin Rowles' stuff.

By steve McKinnon (Steve) on Saturday, April 05, 2008 - 8:04 pm:

Uuhhh, no. Three mistakes with the review; it's Tracy Morgan, not Tracey Jordan, and Hourglass is played by Christopher McDonald, not 'Shooter McGavin'. Where the hell did Rowles get that name from? Pamela Anderson was also the Invisible Girl-- she was only called Invisibitch by a jealous wife of Morgan's character.
Also, he's just dead wrong about this movie. It's very funny again and again. Me and the 100 other people in the theater were laughing at the countless jokes and mugging.
Never heard of Dustin Rowles-- his review comes off as somebody that just wants to swear on the internet alot.
My advice; go see this movie and judge for yourself!

Shooter McGavin would be the name of the character Christopher McDonald played in Happy Gilmore, the role most people remember him for.

Oh. I've made it a point to avoid Happy Gilmore, so that explains it.
