I don't understand the use of the term roboot. Is the word sequel out of style or is it saying they're going to reinvent DareDevil (the movie version anyway)?
According to this story, Fox will produce a new movie, because if they don't, the movie rights will revert back to Marvel, which is now producing its own films (Iron Man having been the first).
I would imagine the poor performance of the first film may also be a reason. I really wish they'd stop giving these films to Mark Steven Johnson.
Writing the script is David Scarpa, who scripted The Day The Earth Stood Still.
