The newest issue of TV Guide mentions this cute website called How It Should Have Ended, which features simple-animated parody shorts that lampoon movies. Some of the parodies are based on controversial endings that some of these films had, or plot holes that the creators feel should've led to a different ending. Others are just general parodies.

Among the movies featured are Saving Private Ryan, Star Wars: A New Hope, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, Lost, The Sopranos, Star Trek (2009), Avatar, Superman, Twilight, The Wizard of Oz, The Matrix Revolutions, Braveheart, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, The Blair Witch Project, It's a Wonderful Life, and others.

There's also a short called Surviving an Alien Attack, which features characters from various films featuring alien villains explaining their preferred method of dealing with aliens.

The Superman one was hysterical, in particular the characterization of a certain Superman colleague at the end of it, which is as funny as the main plotline. (There's also a sequel scene of sorts at the end of the Iron Man one.)

I didn't buy the Avatar one because Jake's rapport with the Na'vi would not have facilitated getting the unobtainium, because it was under their sacred tree. Mining it might've destroyed either the tree, or those little "brain fiber optics" running underground from it.

Anyone ever hear Dennis Miller's old standup routine in which he riffs on the obvious missed at the end of The Wizard of Oz when Glenda, the Good Witch tells Dorothy that the ruby slippers could send her home? I think they totally should've used that for the Wizard of Oz parody. It would've had a greater element of believability too, since I don't recall any mention in the actual film of those soldiers that show up in the parody.

I thought the Terminator concept was kinda clever, but I don't see why the T-1000 would've gone back in time too. Shouldn't he have been trying to protect the target in question?

I didn't think the Blair Witch or Braveheart parodies were very funny or inspired.

How to deal with the creepy girl from the video in The Ring

There is a video series on YouTube called "Honest Trailer".

The one for Transformers was pretty funny.

The one for Twilight was good too, though my not having seen those films limits my reaction to their parody.

The one for Phantom Menace was okay.
