David Ellison's Skydance Productions, the co-financier of the recent film True Grit, is negotiating a rights deal to turn the 1970s animated science fiction TV series Star Blazers into a large scale live action feature.

A Japanese live-action film was created in 2010. A trailer for it can be seen here.
