Jackie Coogan, plays "the Kid". He would grow up to be more famous as Uncle Fester on The Addams Family.

The reason The Kid is available on YouTube for free is most likely because the film is, IIRC, now in Public Domain. I could be wrong, though.

Yes. Though SCOTUS just said that it was OK for Congress to pass laws removing stuff from the Public Domain. How long this film will remain there is debatable.

Love this film, and most of Chaplin's features (and in output in general).

The heavenly dream sequence doesn't hold up too well on repeat viewings, and the whole film could have easily crossed the line into sappy, yet the rest of it is so good that it doesn't.
