Safe House

Nitcentral's Bulletin Brash Reflections: Movies: Misc. TV Movies & Miniseries: Safe House

This was pretty cool! As usual, Patrick Stewart turns in a great performance, and I'm glad he did this movie. It was pretty entertaining. Anyway, I wasn't looking for nits, but these were a few I saw at a glance:

Wouldn't the neighbors complain about the noise from Mace's house?

Exactly how did Mace keep so many weapons in the first place? What about all the ammo? And the computers, cameras, etc...

Abbey gets mad at Mace when he shoots the car. DID SHE FORGET THE DRIVER FLOORED IT RIGHT AT HER?!? I know, she was a bad girl all along, but still...

When Stewart (The pool-guy, not Patrick...) and Abbey do the mock-drill, how did they cut the wires without Mace knowing? Does Mace have to sit at his computers to know when an alarm goes off?

During the same "drill," the 2 "thieves" have plenty of time to shoot Mace when right next to him, yet they don't. Then they have plenty of time to shoot him when he hides on the side of the cabinets (Why did he do that?!?), yet they don't.

Why were the computer screens blurred out when Mace tells Abbey about the half-a-million? Did the director want to hide something? It looks like a harmless food commercial in the background...what's wrong with that?

Why didn't Mace's son-in-law take the gun Mace uses in the end? I thought he cleaned the place of weapons.

How could Mace not remember his name when he just did a complex code on his PC?

I believe that the stress of being betrayed by one of the few people he let himself become emotionally attatched to and being forced to shoot her in the middle of his kitchen caused Mace to lose whatever was left of his deteriorating mind.

At least we know what was causing his problems. Bendai Syndrom! :-)
