Music of Evangelion

Nitcentral's Bulletin Brash Reflections: Neon Genesis Evangelion: Genesis 0:KitchenSink: Music of Evangelion
Well, some people have expressed interest in having a board for the music of Eva, so here it is. Eva did have a lot of music, some of it quite memorable. It even used some pre-existing classical peices in some of the climatic moments. (I still can't listen to Beetovhen's 9th without picturing... well, I wouldn't want to spoil it for anyone who hasn't seen it yet.) And, of course, who could forget "Fly Me to the Moon"?

I would like to say that Eva has the best opening in all of Anime... theres just no compettiton.

You know its funny I was in the coffe house lately and they had a flute player there...and one of the songs he played was "Fly me to the moon". I'm like "••••, its the ending theme for Eva!" it was interesting to hear it in the coffeehouse...

I do think they have a tad to many remixes of that song though in the series.

"Cruel Angel's Thesis..."

Have sweeter words ever been spoken? (Except, possibly, "Zankokuna Tenshi No Teze," which is the Japanese for, well, you know.)

Well... Evangelion did have quite a few remixes of Fly Me to the Moon... I must admit that I was a bit annoyed with the song at first. I couldn't watch Eva without having it stuck in my head hours later... I got some Eva soundtracks, and between three discs, there must be at least twenty different versions of it! However, my annoyance eventually turned into something else... Fly Me to the Moon can become addictive, if you're not careful...

Three words:

"Komm Susser Tod"

Sweetest, most catchy, most distrubing, loveliest song of the soundtracks...

The remix is pretty cool too... Jazz version...

I LOVE the lyrics to "Thanatos~If I Can't Be yours~" bbuuuuuuutttttt.....i can't stand hearing that lady sing to it. The intstrumental version of that song is one of the best I have ever heard. But still...that lady....*shivers*

Does anyone know how many versions of "Zankokuna Tenshi no Teze" there are? I've got six: one the TV-size version, one the full version sung by the woman who did the TV-size one, one sung by Misato, Rei, and Asuka, one sung by Shinji, and two instrumental versions (one guitar and piano, one a string orchestra). Anyone know if there's one or more that I missed?

I Have The TV Size; Full Length; One By Rei, Asuka, And Misato; And One By Rei...
Where'd You Find The Others?

By Matthew Patterson (Mpatterson) on Sunday, September 24, 2000 - 10:39 am:

Where'd you get the Rei one? I don't have that... the Shinji one I got from a link posted to a newsgroup a long time ago, and the two instrumental versions I got from a web site called "Symphony of Evangelion" (http://symphony.engine.ca)... but it shut down rather abruptly.

http://evacorp.cyril.com But their Server Took The Music Page Down Because Of Bandwith Probs... Hope They Can Get It Up Soon...

Anyone know what CD the Rei version would be on? Megumi Hayashibara is a wonderful singer, and I'm one of those old fasioned folk who would rather purchase a CD and show my support to the artists whose work I am enjoying rather then just downloading a song from online somewhere...

I Have The "TAMASHII no Refrain" AquaGroove Version Sung By Megumi... I Got It Off My "IRAVATI" CD... And It's Slower But I LIKES IT! Because It's Sung By Rei Herself! *lol*
